One of the best coffee I have ever had. Shift is located next to the canal, close to City Lodge. The service and ambiance is perfect. The music set the mood right over here. Service is at the finest. The outlet has a very industrial look and feel.

I am absolutely appalled at the level of service I received today over the phone about an Uber eats order from your branch in green point ! I ordered a breakfast croissant and hot chocolate today on Uber eats from you, my first driver didn’t pick up the order after 30 mins so I then phoned the restaurant to cancel the order (who wants to eat a soggy croissant and cold hot chocolate after 30mins waiting time) to which they responded yes we will cancel it for you now. 5 minutes go by and they haven’t cancelled it, I phone back and they say they are going to cancel it for me, 5 mins go by and it still hasn’t been cancelled, I try to phone again and they answer then put down as soon as I start talking which is extremely rude ! I continued to call multiple times and they continued to decline my calls, my friend then phoned and they answered her call, spoke to us and said they don’t know how to cancel it (you are telling me not a single person in the restaurant knew how to cancel the order, where was the manager ?) they then put the phone down on her. Still have not cancelled the order !!! They gave the order to the new Uber eats driver who arrived 30 mins after the first one … after I continuously told them to cancel and not give the order to a new driver, I had to phone the driver to tell him not to take the order from the restaurant and the driver had to eventually cancel the order ! I then went to the restaurant and asked to speak to the manager, I am then told to speak to the barista… who I do not think is the manager. I ask the barista ‘manager’ if he has been in the restaurant the whole time to which he responds yes, I ask him if he spoke to me on the phone to which he responds yes, I then ask him when he left the restaurant then to which he responds he had been there the whole time … his story did not add up and then he continued to fight with us and say that it’s not his problem. I am disgusted by this level of service especially because I do work in the service industry and I would never treat a customer like that and if I did I know I would be issued a warning immediately ! This customer service seriously needs attention asap as what we experienced today was disgusting at the least.

A mess 3rd time, similar experience. Had to place my simple order 4 times with 3 different people. Took 15min + for a 2 basic coffees. Got the order wrong. Barista openly sneezed over cups. After all that, sub-standard coffee for Cape Town.Never again.

i’m absolutely appalled at the level of service delivery and employee training. we ordered breakfast and after having our first driver leave without the order we called to cancel. we waited over 30 minutes for the order to be cancelled after calling multiple times so we could order other food because no one wants to eat a soggy cold croissant and still they continued to make us wait. eventually our calls were ignored so we had to use a different number. we asked for the name of the person we were speaking to and they hung up on us? when they eventually answered again after calling for ages and asked to speak to a manager we were told they don’t have one. what kind of a restaurant doesn’t have a manager? what kind of business are you running? we’ve had to leave home in the pouring rain and make our way to the physical restaurant for help. it’s ridiculous.

This is a great location to enjoy a coffee and something to eat! Shift's coffee is one of my favorite, and I often buy some grounded coffee for home. It's quite popular, and many people are often ordering takeaway coffees, so count on there being a bit of a queue.The service experienced the last month has varied and has not always been attentive. Sometimes, the waiters seem to argue amongst themselves. Sometimes, they are a little distracted and lacking energy. I've often seen the manager around, who seems to get involved when service starts lagging. The coffee barista has always been efficient, trying to manage the coffee orders, the billing, and the staff.Parking can often be found in the parking lot opposite the hotel.
