Did my deckhand course in Cape Town at Ocean Star Sailing Academy. Best sailing academy in South Africa! If you are looking for a career in the Superyacht industry this is by far the best place to get your certificates.

I have done a few different courses with different schools in Cape Town and Ocean Star was by far the worst experience I have had. Our instructor on the second day way about an hour late and probably the least organized person I have ever met. It took us forever to get on the water in the Powerboat course as our instructor kept forgetting keys, paperwork etc. The boat we worked on was awful, dirty, the engine was difficult to work with and almost everything seemed unprofessional about the course.I wish that if you read this, you will find a different place to do your yachting courses with in Cape Town or that Ocean Star sorts their things out and can provide a quality experience.Update: They followed up with me right after this review, which I appreciated and I am hoping they can improve the service for their upcoming courses.

An absolute amazing academy with great people who are always willing to help you out with any enquiry.After spending 3 months with the academy I have had the opportunity to pursue my fully accredited RYA Yachtmaster Coastal qualification from scratch with amazing instructors to help me along the way. The instructors came from different parts of the world to instruct which gave me a great opportunity to learn different techniques and skills. The boats were great to sail offering the right kind of opportunity to learn from the bottom up.This really is an academy where I would recommend all individuals to start their training or even continue their qualifications. But once again, much appreciation to the Ocean Star Sailing Academy in Cape Town.

I did the STCW training with Certified Superyacht Academy. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and what made it even more amazing was all the lecturers involved. They were super friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the course. I highly recommend anyone who's doing their STCW to do it with Certified Superyacht Academy.

From the day I enquired about courses through certified training I was assisted in the most professional manner. I dealt with Jessica who was always able to assist me and provide me with all the information requested in a kind, promptly manner.
