Spec-Savers Vaal Mall

I went for an eye test late in January 2023. I got my spectacles but it was sort of a disaster. I could not focus properly even after trying to cope with it for more than a week. I am wearing multifocals for many, many years and never had any issue previously. I saw my ophthalmologist (previous booking for a general follow up) on 2023-02-09 and after some tests he agreed that the prescription was probably not correct. He gave me letter as support and I went back for a re-test about a week later. Spec Savers admitted that the lens/lenses were incorrect and re-ordered a new set. After about two weeks I got it today (2023-03-07) and this time around it was really a complete disaster. It is so bad that I refused to even take the spectacles in order to try it. Must be mix-up because I could hardly see through it. I am far better of without them than with them. It is really that bad! My pair of R140 Clicks spectacles are way better than the expensive prescription lenses. It is total rubbish. If the test was done correctly, it will point to the manufacturer of the lenses. Spec savers can (needs to!) investigate this further.My recommendation to everybody is to take your money somewhere else.

I had the best service ever. My glasses broke and told them about it and they made it like a was a vip. Was a short notice for a appointment and Kasia manage to pull a few strings for me. When coming for my appointment Ashley assist me with everything. They weren't open yet but when she saw me by the door she opened up for me to get all the paperwork done, so they could squeeze me in for appointment. Kasia and Ashley thank you girls for all your help.We need more people like you, always going the extra mile for your clients.

Very disgusting, those white ladies are kind to white people only, and when it’s time for us they change those kindness faces, I really hated that receptionist’s behaviour, never again vaal mall specs savers

Not the best from my observations. White optometrist sees white people and the black optometrist sees black people, so much segregation happening there its disturbing. The vision of Spec savers in the Vaal is disgusting

I am very disappointed with the racist welcome I experienced at Spec-Savers Vaal Mall on Friday 29 June 2020. I wanted to book an eye test appointment for my daughter with my Bonitas medical aid and the white lady who came out to ask me what I wanted did not even allow me to finish explaining that I want to book for an appointment, she just told me they no longer do free eye tests and no longer give free spectacles and immediately turn to help two white ladies. The impression I got was that as a black person I wanted freebies. That did not sit well with me another lady had to come and assist me.

My Mother-in-law came in for new specs. She was so impressed with great service and the optometrist was very calm with her because she is deaf. I will bring my kids too.

My optometrist was Sifundu Lushaba. Kudos to this young man. I’ve been wearing glasses since I was 12, so I’ve met a lot of optometrists. He is good! I will happily recommend him to family and friends. Spec-savers service excellent as well.

I've had the most amazing experience, very friendly, and amazing service, my grandmother has no complaints at all and my son also got his specs and he was so happy. Thank you spec savers
