Mjejane Bush Lodge

Excellent stay at a truely magical place. The game drives exceeded our expectations - nature put forward its best foot! Beautiful homes with outstanding views, complimented by totally dedicated and hardworking staff. We would love to return - many thanks Mjejane!!

The accomodation is lovely but there was major screw up with a booking that was made several weeks in advance, the short version of which is they tried to give us a unit without a river view despite what our booking said. The manager was unhelpful; for the whole first part of the ordeal she didn't leave her office and we over heard her telling the reseptionist that the bush unit was all they had open so we would have to just make do. This is unacceptable.Furthermore it turns out that the lodge doesnt deal with bookihgs at all, instead they are delt with in Johannesburg which means that phonecalls had to be made and much time wasted during which no reassurance or apology was offered. No effort to make sure we were comfortable while we waited was made. At no point did any of the staff see it fit to call the general manager.The detuy manager did emerge from her office, after a very long time, and offerd us a free game drive if we took the other unit, unit prices are over R2000 a night and the game drive has a value of R150 a person. She then told us that this had never happed in the last 6 months she had been working there, this is meant to be a 5 star self-catering lodge. Something like this should never happen. When we told her that was not good enough she muttered sorry and just went back to her office.Eventually the person in Johannesburg was reach and suddely a river unit was avaible for the first night. We took that and found altrnative accomodation for the second night.This unacceptable incident ruined our plans for day.In the morning the cleaning staff were lokking through our window at around 9am. Seeing that we were inside and busy they then tried to access the house to clean it. Again this is not really acceptable in a 5 star venue, its not really acceptable in any venue. Especially when you are checking out if the unit in less then an hour.In short I've received better service at unrated lodges and hotels. Lovely accomodation ruined by unhelful and unpleasant staff at all levels.

This place is amazing. We can't wait to return next year.

Would've been nice if the guards at the main gate at the entrance was as friendly as the staff at reception and shop.Waitresses need to go for training. The one were really rude. She wanted us to place our orders even before we take a seat. Really unpleasant and we felt so unwelcome. Nothing special on the menu to choose from. We waisted out time and money at the restaurant.The busy camp house are nice and spacious. We enjoy our stay. The safari game drive were awesome.

Very well appointed lodge units. Each room has an aircon and there's a splash pool. We saw elephants approximately 20 meters away from our lounge looking into the Kruger park.

We had a very great stay!!! Thanks to everyone who has made it so great!

We love Mjejane. It's tranquil and a great blissful retreat to the bush. And just a skip to the Kruger national park it's a great way to enjoy the South African Bush with some added creature comforts.
