I applied for my passport on the 29th of May at the Umgeni branch ; I was done within an hour ( make sure to make a booking) ; I received the sms 3 days later to pick up ; pick up was also relatively fast. Make sure to arrive early. If you applied for a passport and ID ; wait for 2 sms one for passport collection and one for ID ; save time collect them both, Friendly staff and helpful

I have no other words but to say that I was standing there for more than 3 hours, my appointment my was originally from 9-10 am but I only got to go in from 10-11. It is very insufficient and unorganised and there is 10 tellers yet only 2 of the 10 tellers were up and working.

It was absolutely terrible when I wentto get my ID, because one of the black lady works there is absolutely racist. And I am disabled and the guard and the guard was the only one to help us and he told her about it but she ignored him , because disabled people get first priority and this black lady didn't want to attend to us to me at all despite the guard and people asking her too , she made me wait for 6 and a half hours and I only got my ID when it was closing time for them and I only got home at 19:00 pm , that racist lady should be fired and she thinks she runs the place, all I can is the umgeni home affairs is bad for there service's, I wish I could rate them zero stars

I would like to thank all staff at home affairs for their phenomenal service received yesterday. From the lady at security to the amazing lady that assisted me with my identity papers. Your service was amazing. Friendliness and willingness goes a long way. Thanking you all from the man that was on crutches!

Was informed that Home Affairs Umgeni Road would be open today. After several frustrating and unsuccessful attempts to book for my daughters first smart ID online, we came here at 8am. Queues weren't that long but the employees seemed to be on a go-slow. It is now 1:36pm and we are still here waiting to process her application after biometrics were done. But every single employee has walked off with no one attending the many people who have been here since morning. Why is it so difficult to get efficient service at home affairs? Is it a concern for the Home Affairs minister at all?

This is the Best Of Best Home Affairs Department. It one of the well managed and most efficient place to get your documents done. The Supervisor makes all the difference. I like to thank her for changing this Branch. We all should donate a gift of thanks to her for a very good Service ". I had a dealing with " Miss Viwe" she was very pleasant. I hope they have a better staff scoring system in place to give credit to people who work very hard for the public service. Phone me"

Made an appointment for 1pm, due to work schedule. Was not helped and told I will be seen up to 2 hours after my appointment. The assistant Siyabonga, was rude, dismissive and lacked courtesy. Upon asking what time I will be seen to- the response was 'when we get to you. You can leave and book another time'. Absolutely appalled with the approach, and look of disinterest.

Made an online booking to capture biometrics.I even submitted my application online., but still here for Over 2 hours... 10 tellers to assist, but 2 staff working to attend to 50+ people is just so annoying. Where is service delivery ? Employ more people to serve us.The system is soo inefficient

A very organized, efficient and spaciously neat branch. I had prompt assistance when it was my turn. Although the wait was long for collections considering its a central branch.
