Tranquil settings.

The name describes it best in that it is a restful haven. From the management, to the staff, to those that reside there - it is absolutely perfect. We often go there to visit our Grandpa who is often found lounging either inside in the warmth of the lounge alongside the kitchen or outside taking in the beautiful surrounds of the well established garden which can only be described as any photographers dream - it is stunning with it's steep backdrop & it's own little lake alongside the lawns with a pool on the opposite side - people living there can often be seen to taking a stroll up & down the lawns, even with walkers or accompanied in groups or by the more than willing staff should they require assistance - some of the more abled or younger at heart take the walk alone & who can blame them when the grounds beckon them with its beauty. The home is so perfectly suited to those with dementia or Alzheimers & as a visitor there on quite a regular basis, it is fairly easy to pick up which habitants are sufferers of dementia or Alzheimers, but then again Alzheimers is heredity & my Mom, her Sisters & Brothers all had Alzheimers - my Mom passed away in the very advanced stages of Alzheimers so I guess I do also recognize or pick up on the symptoms quite readily - but as much as we visit our Grandpa there, it is so often felt as though we are there visiting all that reside there - the residents, no matter their ailment, are the best people one could ever wish to meet - I always feel very at home when we visit there & when leaving, always do so with that satisfied feeling that our Grandpa is in one of the best homes one could wish to find. If I were to have anything negative to say about the place, it is that the driveway & parking area kind of lets the place down a little - having said that, we have never had any major issues in that regard & I drive a LWB VW Crewbus - & once you have negotiated that which obviously affects visitors more than anything else, the home that greets you is well worth the trip up & down the driveway - we absolutely love the Haven Rest Home & would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for the facilities that it offers, especially as I say, if you are looking ata home very adept at caring for those via Dementia or Alzheimers.
