Shoprite Southfield

The people on the checkouts are never efficient; they have to be the slowest operators - very relaxed ! - of tils in any supermarket in Cape Town.One tries finding a queue that is moving faster, but then the teller there starts talking to a customer - & stops processing; then someone asks about a price & it takes forever to get someone who can reverse this or to WALK into the store to get something weighed or the article that was actually on special. Then they start the packing & chatting up the guy with the vest, body & tattoos . . . It is very frustrating & management needs a change if they cannot make the store run like a supermarket.Guys, this is fine for a 1950's green-grocer, but not for a supermarket outlet.Maybe send the tellers on training - just to visit other - even Sprite - stores ?Management might even find that they will not push away so much business to the competition if they run in a friendly, but efficiently, manner.I rather drive to Pick 'n Pay in Gabriel Rd than walk 200m to the Victoria Rd Shoprite.Higher management really needs to look at this store that requires some imagination & upgrading.

Still get the best specials at Shoprite. I buy all my cleaning materials and tin items there.

Great staff always friendly

Great specials if they do have stock.Their shelves were very empty tonight.

If they could just get their meat section right, I would buy their more often.The meat is not always the freshest and the meat counter for personal service closes early everyday. Which means if you would like a special cut or a fresh cut of a particular meat, nobody is available hto assist you.

Shame on you staff and management of shoprite plumstead/. Not the first time I buy stuff and it was half in the container- if not that , then they sell rotten fruit and meat. Can the authorities please INVESTIGATE.. I will never shop there again . This is daylight robbery and the wrong doers need to be accountable

UPDATED 2021-07Due to the area and having a liquor store on the corner, any pedestrian arriving or leaving is mobbed by beggars/car guards". It is slightly better if you enter/leave the back way (where there is plenty parking) if you are on foot.Not a fancy store but not fancy prices either. Sometimes large or unattractive vegetables are offered at a large discount. Quality of fruit and vegetables often not very good. Meat choices limited and not good at all. Décor is a bit grubby but adequate. The Deli food is generally to be avoided

It's my go to shoprite it's not perfect but it's always clean n has what I need n the cashiers are really fast n efficient...thank you

It's just really small for the surrounding areas it caters to, but convenient in and out kind of vibe

For the umpteenth time in the last few weeks this store has opened LATE, not that I go there every day. This is one store that can benefit from training in customer-centricity, and more importantly, punctuality. Management seems to be pretty lax, waddling around the store with not a care in the world and this rubs off on the rest of the staff
