We ate at a restaurant in Hermanus tonight silently wishing we could rather have the crispy chicken pepper sauce burgers from The Barn. Not to mention Jacques malva pudding which is a very special treat. See you again soon!

Unfortunately we didn't manage to get a table as our group was too large. We opted for take aways. The restaurant looked cosy and welcoming. There is a great dinner menu offering a good variety of grills and starters. This restaurant can also offer private functions. It is situated in the heart of Caledon

Not knowing Caledon I reverted to Google maps for restaurants. The Barn was rated above 4 so I chose to go eat there. It's a family run business, the food is good with a very large and diverse menu for a relatively small establishment.Service was friendly and prompt and the suggestion from the large menu was good. Prices are reasonable. For something different by way of dining out it is well worth a try when in Caledon.

Genuinely loved it. Currently due to Covid-19, they have limited their seating to about 30 people. The two owners also do everything in the restaurant. From taking your order to preparing the food to serving the food, which gives you extra assurance and quality service. The food was delicious and very well presented on the plate. I had their snails, with garlic and mozzarella cheese sauce, which was divine as a starter. My main meal was their every day fillet special, which has been prepared to perfection. I will definitely return here on my next visit to my family in Caledon.

From outside it doesn't look so appealing to eye, but once inside it is nice, cozy and gives you an amazing feeling of time travelling back to the good old times. The service is friendly and heart warming. The food is amazing and taste just like ouma se kos van die plaas"!"

I opted against the insanely cheap discounted burger Monday special to treat myself to a streak and sides. The owner said maybe get a another sauce because it won't coat the side rice, which i asked.Steak cooked perfectly, rice over done (didn't mind as im aware of being out of a major city) it was almost authentically overdone in its charm.The problem with such a big plate with 4 items and 2 sauces!... It was mind blowingly bland! Zero taste on the whole plate.Regardless of being in a cute town in the limited dining options available, if i spend R200 on a steak i expect to taste the food.Very friendly owner and staff and i would definitely go back when passing through!... I'll opt for burger next time

Very rural and different. Had a great meal plain and simple but very tasty. And a nice bottle of wine all for a very good price.
