Sandton Sun

I loved everything about this hotel although we were only there for two nights. I was traveling with a group of 150 people from the United States on our way to Safari. The food was exceptionally delicious, The staff was exceptionally friendly, pleasant and accommodating. I like to make note of the architecture in Johannesburg It's absolutely beautiful. I would definitely stay at this hotel if I ever have the opportunity to visit Johannesburg again. 'It was sexy'. Last but not least I would like to thank Bruce the manager that oversaw our first night thank you for all that you do. Signing off I definitely recommend this hotel if you ever visit Johannesburg.

Great ambience, spacious room and amazing water pressure. The breakfast buffet is really good. It's conveniently connected to the mall. The staff is really friendly and helpful, even arranged an early check-in for us.One of us was a celiac and after personally talking to the chef in the hotel's restaurant they were able to safely prepare a chicken salad and pan-grilled halloumi with some hummus. They were fairly knowledgeable about cross contamination. The fryers are not safe and we weren't sure about the grill so we played it safe.

The Sandton Sun was opulent and huge, but what they spent on opulence, they skimped on room size. Signage is terrible. You just have to figure out where you are or keep asking people. The spa is FABULOUS and very affordable. Clean, relaxing with excellent massage therapists. Their phone system sucks! Couldn’t figure out how to call the front desk. Called the first night for help with the USB jacks b/c none of them worked. No one ever showed up. Room service was excellent and the food was good but not hot enough. Also very affordable. USD goes far in S. Africa. Servers were very nice and genuinely helpful. They’re never begging for a tip, but tip them and tip them well. I’m sure their wages are low. They love USD currency to take plenty of singles and $5 if traveling from the USA.

Beautiful luxury hotel but security is not very good in the restaurant and lobby area. Stayed here for 6 nights and on day 3 all my stuff got stolen from my handbag in the lobby area right outside the restaurant. The hotel had the video of the person taking stuff out of my bag and they said he is a regular there. They could not do anything about it.

Everything in this hotel is amazing. The reception, location and service. I recommend this hotel for you if you are coming for a honey moon. They will pamber you with flowers and make you celebrate your wedding again. Everything in this hotel is second to noon. You will enjoy your trip with this fancy hotel.

Excellent service!!!! If you have breakfast, lunch or dinner you can expect the most delicious food. The gym shames every other gym I have been to. The rooms are stunning with the finest details to make your stay even more comfortable!!!

I recently stayed at the Sandton Sun hotel for a business trip and unfortunately, I must say that it was not the best experience. While the hotel is a good business hotel, it had a lot of issues that made my stay less than ideal. As a result, I am giving it a 3-star rating.The first issue I encountered was that I had to change rooms three times before finally getting one that was in good working order. The air conditioning in my initial room was not working properly and the room was very cold. The second room was located on a very low floor, which made it quite noisy. However, the third room was satisfactory and I was able to settle in comfortably.One positive aspect of my stay was the selection of wines available at the hotel. They were of high quality and definitely added to my experience. Additionally, the Food and Beverage Manager was the standout employee of the hotel. He was extremely knowledgeable about his job and went above and beyond to make my stay more enjoyable.However, overall, I was not impressed with the hotel. I was not happy with the fact that my client booked it for me, as I would not have chosen it myself. While the hotel is located next to a conference center, there was nothing special about my stay. It was a standard business hotel with a lot of problems that detracted from my experience.In conclusion, while the Sandton Sun hotel has some positives, such as good wines and a knowledgeable Food and Beverage Manager, the issues I encountered during my stay detracted from my overall experience. The fact that I had to change rooms three times before finding one that was satisfactory was frustrating, and the hotel was not able to provide a more enjoyable stay. If you are looking for a business hotel in the area, I would suggest considering other options before choosing the Sandton Sun.

Very beautiful hotel,clean rooms and amazing foodThere is need to improve on service though,no one tells you where to find dining area and other facilities like gym and pool upon arrival-you have to figure out all of that on your own

We just checked in as a group of 140. We were handed drinks, picked up our keys and headed straight to our rooms. It's a Fabulous looking hotel. Rooms are small but clean and a little fancy.
