Hunter's Country House

This place is simply amazing. The staff are unbelievably attentive and don’t let you lift a finger and the decor is beautiful.

We spent one night here on our honeymoon, while driving the Garden Route. The hotel really made a nice effort to make our occasion and the level of service, the general manner and the friendliness of the staff were all excellent.The hotel is just off the N2, so a good stopping point when travelling the Garden Route.Our room was very spacious and felt luxurious. There was a nice fire and a relatively quirky design (very Hobbiton, but in a good way). The main reception was also nicely furnished/decorated and you definitely noticed the high standard of the property.

We experienced the service at Hunter's as the best we have ever experienced. Truly 5* stars worthy. I would say 6 stars :)They thought about everything of making our stay amazing. And it exceeded all our expectations. When visitting plattenberg bay area dont look any further. Thankyou team Hunter's country house.

This was a spectacular hotel and my favourite from a 3 week travelling holiday. It was hidden away down a dirt track which was a bit disconcerting at first. It was classy but relaxed and friendly. I loved the traditional colonial feel to it. All the rooms/lodges were discreet and private. Every detail was well presented and you could want for nothing. We had a welcome bottle of wine which was a nice touch. I loved the beautifully tended gardens to wander around and there were some little antelopes grazing on the lawns. Our meals were fantastic, beautifully presented and served. Although we didn't use it there was a nice pool , gym and discreet children's area.

From the moment you arrive at Hunters Country House you know it is definitely 5 star. Everything about the place is well thought out.I have never received a warmer or more sincere welcome anywhere I have stayed. The staff are incredible and really went the extra mile, so much so that one member of staff arranged for medication to be picked up for my partner who was under the weather. Well above what was expected.We stayed at Cape Holy, suite number 1. Which in itself is a beautiful place to live for a few days, thatched roof, exposed wooden beams, the open fire, free standing bath with curtains surrounding it made it comfortable and luxurious.The grounds are impeccably kept. The pool and gym area are a great place to relax, but be warned the pool is not warm. It is however refreshing on a hot day. The conservatory is a lovely venue for breakfast and the offer of ‘Hunters Eggs Benedict’ should be taken up as soon as possible, my girlfriend was very taken with the pancakes.All of the time we spent at Hunters House felt special. The restaurants on the estate were superb, and again the staff were a pleasure to deal with.To everyone who made our time so memorable, thank you. I will never forget my time with you and I hope to visit again in the future.

From being greeted at the entrance to checking out an amazing experience. If you don’t fine peace of mind at this place, you find it nowhere. Great and very romantic cottage, waking up with a cup of coffee on your terrace watching the bushbucks, followed by a tranquil breakfast in the conservatory. In the evening first a drink in library, followed by a delicious diner…One of those gems where time stands still…

We had an extremely pleasant experience as we just went for a quick look at the rooms. The staff at Hunters Country House are very friendly and welcoming, they helped us without any hesitation! If you want to experience absolute tranquility with world class service and professionalism this is the best place to be.Unparalleled!Thank you.

Stunning...Amazing experience with loads of specials touches. The gardens were our highlight... absolutely beautiful!Our rooms were very comfortable and extremely clean. The finishes extremely high quality and comfortable. All the different areas in the hotel is well looked after.Lost one star as the WIFI is not really useable... As mobile reception is poor this is a problem.

Perfect experience! The warm atmosphere and the staff’s attention to details made our stay incredible. It’s a beautiful and peaceful place, and the restaurant is highly recommended. Can’t wait to return ❤️
