Very unprofessional, no plan given as per website states and no relations with family, no discussion and no action. Complained about this and the treatment received one mail is utterly disgusting.Nurses were friendly make no mistake. The management team took no responsibility for their lack after a long letter of complaint. All they want is there full mount paid.Claiming, SUPPORT, FACILATATE AND ACCELERATE, this did not apply. Also the spoken words of Francios managing at the time, who promised that the team will call a meeting with the family and discuss a way forward, NEVER HAPPENED.An institute should never use the words collaborative, when no form of collaboration was made known. After constant asking what is happening and constant requesting speech therapy, it happened on the last 2 days. Elderly patient eventually checked himself out as he felt the help was extremely insufficient. After we got home, we then received calls as we left complaints. The therapist mentioned that Francois the manager left the same week and they do apologize for the lack of treatment we found. BUT THIS MENTIONED IN A LETTER DID NOTHING. Instead we get a letter of demand to pay up the balance of the 50% or hand the account over. We requested a reduction in a letter for compensation of the lack of collaboration and information and no plan for recovery for the patient. The answer was hilarious and unacceptable. Not once was it considered any lack from their side and no responsibility taken. We remain very disturbed by the whole process, blaming us for incorrect admission, when we went on the advice of their staff member. Of course we will pay, but let it be known, be very careful as to what you are told and what you actually receive and the huge amount one has to pay out for such a terrible service of non collaboration. The site reads as follows.....Our patient-centric approach optimizes recovery while greatly reducing the need for readmissions and other often unnecessary interventions or care....... *Definitely did not experience this at all!Speaking of Supporting and facilitating.... SORRY but we are still wondering where the facilitation part was.Definitely not worth 1 star.

Here for 6 days of rehab after back surgery. Physio + OT + daily visits by my own private GP. Building is starting to look a little tired but revamp starting soon I hear. The standard and quality of nursing and therapy beats anything that you could hope to get at a big private hospital. Impressed! The BIG surprise was the food! A new chef started while I was there. Frankly, this wasn't hospital food": GARY RUTHVEN could get a job at any fancy Cape Town eatery

Dear operations manager at Palm Garden Retreat - Helen Zille Wing, please can you help me. My mother was admitted into the Helen Zille Wing of the Palm Garden Retreat Private Nursing Home for post stroke neuro-physiotherapy on Tuesday the 11th of February 2020. She passed away on Friday the 14th of February 2020 and her the total amount of her stay at the retreat tallied a total of ZAR8,850. I had pre paid an amount of ZAR43,125 and on the day of my mom's passing, I received an email from the case manager (Ms. Lauren Davies) confirming that I would receive my refund (R34,275) on Friday the 28th of February 2020. The retirement facility banks with Nedbank and so do I, so interbank transfers reflect on the same day. When the refund amount of R34,275 was still not reflecting in my bank account on Tuesday the 3rd of March 2020, I called Palm Garden Retreat and I spoke with a lady by the name Charmaine who works at the admin/finance department of the retreat and she assured me that the funds would be paid into my Nedbank account before Friday. On Thursday I called Charmaine again and I was referred to their finance guy whose name is Lado who assured me that my refund had already been credited to my Nedbank account and would be reflecting by first thing the morning of Friday the 06th of March 2020 which was today. I called Lado and Charmaine a total of 20 times today and I was repeatedly assured that the director of The Retreat who needed to sign off the payment was in a meetings since 06:00am this morning up until just before 4pm and could not be disturbed, which was clearly a lie. Following my mom's passing, I enrolled my daughter at an international school in Cape Town. I explained to the staff at Palm Garden Retreat as well as forwarded them an email from the school stating that my daughter would not be enrolled or allowed to start classes at the school on Monday the 09th of March 2020 until her registration fee and 1st term fee of ZAR25,000 had been paid upfront. It's really sad that in order for me to have any hope of being attended to, I've had to turn to Hellopeter and Google reviews for assistance.. Especially since I held the facility and its staff in such high regard. But I honestly am beyond disappointed now. For the love of G-D, can I please please just have my refund credited to my account today. Can you please just assist me to get my money back.
