Down rated as:1) Fresh fruit & veg section could do with better quality, variety and pricing; soft/overripe/going bad on top while prepackaged has decent top layering while nasty discovered beneath ⁷, on opening at home.2) Meat section selection is similarly unimpressive3)

Today the 20th September just before 10am, I bought chicken gizzards and livers at Checkers Durban north. The sell by date says the 21 September, but the smell says 7th September. Totally spoiled, looks like the packaging was changed this morning to a later date. I am so disappointed.

It's one of my favorite checkers stores in Durban,always clean, and the stuff is always so helpful and friendly from all departments of the store. The produce are fresh always.

The shop smells, and often, the meat you buy is rotten, especially chicken, and the cakes are stale. The checkers 60 shoppers just push you out the way and have absolutely no manners.

Checkers Durban North( the bigger store) are generally a good place to shop. They are well stocked and the staff are friendly and well trained. The shop is reasonably tidy. It does have a crowded feel though. The isles are close together and stacked high and most of the time there's someone blocking the way with stock being unpacked. I usually go there if I want something specific or if I can't find what I'm looking for elsewhere.

I felt very uncomfortable when I went there, first parking is a nightmare and 2nd you can't get in or out your car without been harassed so many guys coming up to you to sell you stuff or ask for money or they just start shinning your car. Its overwhelming and scarey been a women on her own

This store opens early, always has good fresh produce, friendly staff and very helpful supervisors and management. The service is excellent and the staff takes pride in their appearance and with their work.

Perfect little local grocer. Almost everything you may need in groceries under one roof. Best to visit during the day.when it isn't too busy as it can get quite cramped. Awesome specials and friendly, helpful staff. 10/10 would shop again.

Just drove all the way to Dbn North from Umhlanga as the trading times showed that it closes at 8pm on the web page only to get there at 7:20pm and the supermarket is closed. I could have shopped at Eastman spar had I knownAccording to the site, the trading times were updated 3 weeks ago, which is recent.
