One of our favourite stays along the garden root. The view looks like a painting, food is remarkable, stuff and owner were super friendly and helpful. Worth every penny!

Was meant to be the pinnacle of our trip but ended up being the worst night of our two weeks travelling in SA. Can't fault the meal itself and the location was lovely, the lodges I thought held serious potential.Unfortunately for the entire night we were kept awake with what sounded like mice scrambling across the inside of the roof as well as up and down the walls.I appreciate it's a remote location however when advertising and charging boutique prices there's a minimum standard that's expected, this definitely feel below par. The lady on reception the following morning (not manned overnight) was sympathetic and said that the manager/owner would speak to us at breakfast, indeed he did. He asked us where we were from and if we were staying another night. Stated that it must be bats and sighed as he told us he would have to lift some of the roof to look (thanks for letting us know). Anyway no apologies or acknowledgement of the sleepless night.I did note orange expansion foam hardened around all the outside walls and caught on shurbs outside our lodge that would suggest that recent visitors had. Flagged the same issue in recent times.Definitely won't be back sadly

We stayed two nights here during a road trip along the Garden Route. I only wish we'd stayed longer. Our room was beautiful, quiet, and the staff were fantastic. We were traveling with a 14-month old and everyone was helpful and accommodating. The breakfast team even set up a table with a high-chair and served our little guy a bowl of yogurt each morning. The hotel also provided a french press and jar of ground coffee in the room. That little perk absolutely won me over.

The setting and accommodation and everything about this place is wonderful. It's such a chilled zen place. We loved it. We've been on the go a lot moving from here to there and Emily Moon River was just so nice and relaxing. We'd a fab time. We used the little kayaks on the river which was nice. We ate in the pizza bar and the pizzas were gorgeous. We also dined in the restaurant that night and the food and wine and cocktails were fab. The rooms are amazing. So spacious and nicely decorated. The separate bathroom with big shower and bath was great and the little chilled seating area. We'd also a lovely balcony over looking the river. The staff were all super friendly and helpful. The breakfast was nice. Not buffet but you just picked 1/2 things from a menu. Overall I'd highly recommend and hope to return some day!More selection at breakfast could have been nice and also somewhere to eat lunch. We arrived around 2/3pm and couldn't get food until the pizza bar opened at 5pm. Which then meant we weren't too hungry for dinner.

Absolutely beautiful! My sister got married here and we stayed at Emily’s for a few extra nights, the food was amazing and staff incredibly accommodating. Will definitely be back!

So close to town, but you feel like far away from everything. Amazing atmosphere, big room (we had a family room with two levels), great variety of food, friendly staff and quick access to kayaking up and down the river. Definitely one of the best places to stay in the area. Make sure to enjoy the sunrise (and go back to sleep afterwards ;-)

We had such a beautiful anniversary weekend. Very impressive that they cater so well for vegans. Amazing views… even in the shower! Couples massage on the deck was such a treat and absolute bliss! Staff were super helpful and accommodating…even serving our dinner on our deck.Loved it!

Beautiful place to enjoy the mist amazing sunsets. Very pretty and romantic. The rustic design lends itself well to the environment. The seating on the deck was our go to to watch the sunset. The food was good but the service was slow.
