The Caledon Hotel and Spa
Not child friendly. The only amazing thing about this place is the hot pools. There are no places to put your towels, no day beds to relax after swimming. Most of the hot pools is way to hot for kids. The only pool that has a kids pool is the cold pool which is ice cold and makes being at the hot springs pointless. The breakfast is very basic. The place definitely needs a revamp. The pools are also very slippery. Restaurants in hotel are very average. Will not go again.

I had a different picture in my mind when booking this place, the spa, baths, grounds are incredible, however this is as far as my compliments go.Unfortunately our superior room was well worn, felt like it needs an upgrade. The partitions between our room and the neighbours were down, so when they spoke it felt like it was right in our space. Definitely not a romantic setting as advertised. The entire hotel and casino area looks like it needs a little more love. For the price you pay, you don’t want a warn out room. Not something I would do again. Would probably do a day trip to the spa. It’s kid friendly, with pools, games room, quad biking. Not a couple mission.

We went to the Caledon spa's hot springs. Really enjoyed the hot springs. Changing rooms were quite small and continuously wet. Lockers were small.

SPA review: I never write bad reviews but unfortunately my experience at the spa was not good. Poor service, bad communication, and the food included at the Casino was poorly organised and very underwhelming. No attention to detail or customer care. We were asked to pay extra for towels and locker keys on top of spending a large amount at the spa. No slippers and torn gowns. Would not recommend for the price.

Enjoyed the springs and our overnight stay had a good nights rest. Food was ok as well. Things to improve, service around the hotel was non existent. Rooms outdated. Guests adjacent to us loud, and inconsiderate at 2-3am in morning coming from casino (Not the hotels fault ).

We went for the day to enjoy the natural hot springs and Spa.Absolutely amazing.Clean and well kept. The service was good and the hot springs are absolutely fantastic. Not very kid friendly, but absolutely worth a visit as a romantic getaway or with friends.

The experience was ok. I always have my reservations booking one of the rooms. It's extremely noisy... you can't really relax. People next door or across rooms keep banging their doors, talking loudly in the passage and playing their TV in the room unbearably loud at night. They should tell people that upon check-in cos it's frustrating. The hot springs were lovely as usual although it was quite packed because of the Easter break. Buffet breakfast can use more imagination. They are not really equipped well with an influx of people coming to eat. There wasn't enough cutlery. But the serving staff was very friendly. Would be nice if there were more than 2 restaurants on site. The one serves basic meals..not much of a choice. The rooms need major change. The carpet smells bad in the room. Cupboards have seen their days..old, chipped and ugly. Don't like the R200 refundable deposit for towels. I've seen similar reviews by others on the same issues so I doubt anything will be done about it

The Caledon Hotel and Spa
The bathrooms are not the cleanest & require some tlc. The hotel staff are super willing to assist and are very warm and welcoming. However, some front desk staff require training. The spa staff should promote the use of the spa facilities post treatments to elevate the spa experience. Great spot to unwind & will return.

The hotel offers bed and breakfast. Though I only day visited in February 2023. Hot springs and nice view of the pools. Has a sauna and good for couples getaway and business trips.

Having gone to the Caledon Spa fairly often from 1997 - 2010, I started going to the sister hotel Arabella however post covid-19 I decided to try it out again in January 2023. I had the worst experience of my life. I parked my vehicle in the designated parking provided by the hotel only to be awoken by the hotel security the following morning at about 6am to be notified that I needed to come to my vehicle asap. On arrival in the parking lot i found my vehicle was cordoned off with emergency tape someone had attempted to steal the fuel from my petrol tank by making a hole in the bottom of the tank with a screw (obviously it must have taken some time), needless to say quite a bit of petrol had ran out by the time I came, as the security explained it possibly happened between 3 & 4am. My question was simple where was the security is there video footage ? only to be told there is no CCTV footage where my vehicle was standing .... really!!Needless to say my holiday was completely spoiled so not only did I spend on the accommodation which I did not enjoy I also had to fork out 6k to have my vehicle towed back to Cape Town, 85k later for a tank replacement 36k on car rental as it took from 11 January till 28 February 2023 to get my vehicle back not forgetting my mobile phone bill making phone calls to recovery vehicle companies, the on call vehicle repairs and the motor repair company. Caledon SAPS opened the case on 11 January 2023 and closed the case on 12 January 2023 all leads followed up case closed. Compensation from the spa a lift back home to Cape Town. Was not happy with the room the room I saw online and the room I was greeted by completely different asked for a different room and had to pay extra
