When driving through Kroonstad, please, do yourself a huge favour and do not stop at the usual places on the main road in Kroonstad. Just 400 meters from the main road is a coffeeshop - Plumbago. An absolute must visit when in Kroonstad. The staff are extremely friendly. The food is delicious!!! A curio shop with only South African made products, is the best place to stock up on extraordinary gifts and homemade cookies. Make this stop a definite point on your road trip adventure, You will not be disappointed.

We have stopped there twice over a year first time for breakfast second for lunch staff were great and food was good as well as being good value. I can recommend stopping in.

Hi there I am from Heidelberg and had the privilege to enjoy a meal today. Unfortunately the box snitchel was oily. Our waiter with all do respect not the friendliest somewhat annoyed by us. It might be my personal experience. The environment is stunning but the food not so much. Sauces served with meals are also not the best considering the price of the food. Beautiful setting with outside dining and inside dining. Wooden floors and old time ambience. Lovely shop with treats and gifts. Food was delicious and coffee very good. Worth the stop on route to Bloemfontein or Welkom Great service. Will definately be back.

I had the Plumbago Salad Wrap. The food was okay (chips could use a little improvement), presentation nice. I think table mats would be a good idea for them. Great service though.

One of the hidden gems of Kroonstad, great little shops, very relaxing.Small update, after my last review, this place have new management.There is an excellent menu and great coffee choices. The food look, smell and taste fantastic. This is a quiet place, and excellent for business meetings as well.Some private corners if you need one!Never miss the mother and fathers day specials!The Plumbago salad is currently my favorite!
