Absolutely love this place. Everyone is friendly. The food is such big portions. Real value for money. Great homemade type food which tastes delicious! They have good drink specials. Nice space for kids to run around in.

Very disappointed tonight. We tried to do a call and collect as we would on a Friday. Tonight we called and they told us we couldn’t order after 17:30? We definitely have before. They asked us if we are accusing them of lying? Like really? Was told food could take over an hour and although we would have been happy with this we were not given the option. I honestly love this restaurant but this was disappointing. The place definitely needs new staff.

What a disappointment!I came from Canada for my father's 83rd birthday.We called before and made a reservation for our family (6) to celebrate my father's 83rd birthday.When we showed up, the reception person told us that she does not see our reservation on their system.We asked to speak to the owner/manager and was told to wait. 20 minutes later we were still waiting, even though speaking to the reception person every few minutes.Then we just left... completely unacknowledged and disrespected.

The food was great as always. The thing I am truly upset about is the service. We came to eat for my birthday. We had 3 or 4 different waiters so we did not even know who was our table's waiter. Not one of the 3 or 4 waiters introduced them to the table like a waiter should. When the bill came my mother told him the amount and paid. He then proceeded to call her back just to say a tip would be nice". This waiter was very arrogant and had a ugly attitude towards us and other customers the entire time. That is why I think he does not deserve a tip for the way he acted. He completely disgusted me for the way he talked to my mother and the way he was serving us. If I was there when this took place I would've said something but i was in the bathroom which had a completely open window. Anybody could have seen into the toilet. We had to ask him twice for takeaways and 4 time for an extra garlic and cheese sauce also for take away. It took us almosr 30 mins to get what we asked for. They weren't even busy at all so there is no excuse for them taking so long to get something as simple as takeaway baskets and a extra garlic and cheese sauce. I am completely disappointed and disgusted by his service. He needs to fix his attitude towards other customers. They will not see me any time soon again."

Based off the other peoples reviews I was aware and prepared that service is super slow. But the food quality and portion size all makes up for it. This hidden gem is around the corner from my house and never been. Will definitely be making this my local and having many meals there. I so wanted to try the Eisbein but as we went for breakfast it would have been too much. So I'm going back for that soon.

Food is fantastic and so well priced. Menu is diverse without being overwhelming or confusing. My favourite dish is the chicken espetada and their chips. Service is friendly and casual, albeit a little slow at times. Great vibe.

Another revisit. In fact, we visited as per request as she hosted her 60th birthday here years ago and really enjoyed the buffet Dave put together. This time we went for a family lunch.Customer service was warm and attentive, I’d rate it a 8 out of 10.Food selection & variety was wide enough especially if you’re looking for heavy eats 8 out of 20.Taste, I felt my fish better was slightly under seasoned however the chips was brilliant 6 out of 10. My dad has the lamb shank and rated it 6 out of 10. The portions were huge and we all needed to take home doggy bags. Definitely value for moneyOverall experience, 6 out of 10. Do believe they could do with a fresh coat of paint and a deep clean to warm up the place and make it more comfortable. But overall, if you’re looking for value for money, bloemhof is the place.

The waiter was really friendly. Also the food and drinks were really good. For the amount of money you spend, you really get your money worth and still have enough for takeaway. Went there when loadshedding happened, so generators were running a short while. Afterwards the atmosphere was calm and everyone could hear each other. Didn't see kids' area, so assume there isn't. Place is great for birthdays or family dinner or business year function. Would recommend visiting it.

Lovely experience both times I was there. The staff are incredibly friendly, so-so nice and always around to ask if there's anything else we need. Going out of their way. As for the food... I'll just quote another patron's comment I overheard as he passed our table on his way out: ...I ask for a schnitzel
