My dad is a long distance truck driver. Today 20 Aug 2022 at exactly 18:42 we went to pick him so he could quickly come home for a nice shower & to get the food we packed for him. We arranged with one of the employees there that he will be back before 9pm. At exactly 20:57 we stopped there. The employee said to us that if he is there before 9pm they won't charge him the fee for overnight stay. Upon arrival we started packing all his belongings into his truck. Another employee came up to us and said that my dad has to pay R150 (which they usually charge for 24hours). My dad then called the owner of Amana,Joe, and he said that my dad has to pay R100 for the 2 hours that his truck was there. This is also the second time we have had this run in with Amana Fuels. The owner refuses to let my dad leave the premises without paying the amount. I personally feel like they really need to sharpen up on the security on the premises. On the occasions my dad actually stayed the 24 hours the security does not open the gates even when he is hooting at the gate. They also do not patrol and they are always asleep when trucks are trying to exit. From the first time my dad stopped there (when Joe's business just started)we recommended other truck drivers use these premises for overnight stay. My dad went out of his way to promote Amana Fuels. Joe accused my dad of being a bad person trying to ruin his business. When my dad said that he will take the matter further, Joe accused my dad of wanting to ruin his business but I personally believe that Joe's morals and greediness will be the downfall of his business. Would not recommend Amana fuels!!!!!!
