Khanyisa Mountain Lodge

The most amazing place, staffed by incredible people. The rooms/buildings beautifully built and finished. As beautiful as it all looks on their website, I can assure you it is even better - Khanyisa is so worth a visit! Totally unique and stunning in every way!!

We had a wonderful two days at the lodge during our 5 day drive around the Cape area. It was an unexpected gem. Great place to relax, stargaze, eat great food with a few glasses of wine. We made full use of the hot tub and the pool. We stayed at a cottage, but had breakfast and dinner at the lodge, since we did not bring our own food. We thoroughly enjoyed talking with Rolf and many of the staff. I learned a lot about South Africa during those two days. Thank you Rolf, Smiley, and Kisha!

What a magical stay! Stunning scenery, amazing accommodations, spectacular service and fabulous food. Oh, did we mention the fantastic, friendly staff!Our advice, book a getaway weekend and utilize the Khanyisa Mountain Lodge as your base to explore the wonders of the Robertson Valley wine district.

We had the most amazing stay, nothing was too much trouble for the delightful owners and staff. Definitely a spot we shall revisit. Sitting in a hot tub looking over the stunning view is certainly memorable!

Last february me and my friend Barbara visited Khanyisa. It was our final stop of our two week trip in the Western Cape area and beyond. And men, was it a good one! Ralph and the team were so kind, accomodating and helpful. We felt at home straight away when we were welcomed by Tendai and were served incredibly tasty meals by Keisha. On sunday we enjoyed a little field trip - a three hour service and lovely lunch - with Ralph himself. Rooms are spectacular, beds are beyond comfortabel and it really is a very lovely get away. It's not a quick and easy drive into town, but who needs that anyway when you can enjoy the pool and really hang back for a change? Highly recommend!

What a fantastic stay. Thoughtfully constructed hideaway perched at the top of a mountain overlooking an historic farming valley. Dramatic views. Modern and scrupulously clean. Our hot tub was at the edge of the abyss, literally, being right at the edge of a cliff! Rolf and his team are gracious hosts. Great breakfasts. We give this a 6 out of 5.

We recently celebrated my 60th at Khanyisa Lodge. We booked out the entire lodge and cottages (8 rooms) for a weekend and arranged for Marisa to cater lunch and dinner. Everything was perfect - from the hosts, to the rooms, the food, the service, and don't even get me started on the setting, views and scenery. Staff are super friendly and efficient without being in your face". The hosts offered us the "run" of the lodge - they were on hand if required but kept a really low profile making it feel like it was our home. I would not have changed a thing and I will recommend it to anyone and will most certainly be back ourselves."

What an absolutely stunning location and accommodations!! Everything was perfect and the attention to detail well thought out! An absolute treasure in this world. The owners are a pleasure and we can’t wait to visit again, hopefully soon! Thank you for your wonderful hospitality.

This was a stunning lodge..we felt like we were up in the clouds being so high up in the mountain...really surrounded by God's beautiful creation within nature..we could see the stars as we laid in the hot tub, hear the birds, crickets and even an owl. It was awesome to have a self catering option, as well as being able to have the option of doing Breakfast and/or supper. We had breakfast on the last morning there...the breakfast was awesome, delicious and filling. The design of this lodge was very carefully thought out, the suite was spacious yet cozy, modern and even the braai was designed for any weather condition. We enjoyed the trail walk which led up to a cliff area with amazing views. Also I must commend and thank the staff on their friendly, professional and heart warming manner in which they do their job.Big shout out to Glenda for assisting with our booking, to friendly Tendai for all his awesome work in ensuring we were comfortable and relaxed during our stay and to Lizzie for her warm assistance with any need. This trip was definitely one we won't forget. I highly recommend Khanyisa lodge as a honeymoon destination or for couples celebrating an occasion.
