The Houghton Hotel Spa
We stayed in the executive suite before departing on our honeymoon. It was a small room but the bathroom was gorgeous. The way it opened up into the bedroom was romantic. The shower was fantastic as well. The lite kitchenette made a difference and a dryer was a great idea for wet towels when coming back from the pool. The outside pool area is just amazing. Felt like I was at an exotic resort. Downside was the long walk to the room and the closure of everything super early. You can't even talk a walk at the pool at night . Will definitely go back

Sometimes expensive is not luxury. That’s exactly what the spa represent.You pay arm and a leg for lack of customer service. Very casual response to complains. Service not worth the value of prices. We were charged R500.00 each for lunch and told we could only order food worth R300.00. Shocking!

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are to die for. Friendly staff, reception and butlers. Keep up the good work. On the downside the restaurant food doesn't cater for kids and even for old people is a struggle if you just want a simple meal. The staff in the restaurant as well not very friendly like at the hotel side. It was like I'm not in the same hotel. The manager at the restaurant kept going to other tables next to us and never bothered once to check on us until we left.

All booking arrangements were made through Espire Global. Fantastic to deal with, efficient communication. Everything from the welcome at the door with Jacob to the check in and Sabrina with the bookings. Pleasantly surprised with a personalized welcome. Views over the outdoor cafe/restaurant were great. Gym looked super well fitted out (sadly didn’t get to use it this trip, but i went there to confirm opening times)

Lovely spa. Enjoyed my time. There’s something missing I just don’t know if it’s with the staff or what. Had a little gift from the spa for my birthday and it tasted so good

The good:Had a good experience. Razul chamber and massage treatments were good. Beautiful setting.The bad:Disappointing incident was that my recently purchased Garmin sports watch was stolen within 30min of me forgetting it in the pocket of my gown and me alerting the staff.Don’t take valuables at all and don’t think that people are honest no matter how nice and friendly they are.We were there on 12 November 2022.

The lady at reception was very rude and unprofessional. She came midlunch (on my birthday) and asked me to pay for spa treatment. Though I was a guest at the hotel, she made it difficult for me to use the guest pool.
