Solar Man

Prices seems decent but unfriendly and unhelpful service does not compensate. I was about to purchase R9000 gel batteries (with no warranty), but they had no tester and would not allow me to use my own tester before handing over my money.

Good service when buying. No accountability for bad products. I bought four 5kW Schubart batteries. They trip when taking power on a small load. Even with more batteries connected. Solarman not interested to see my video evidence or send someone to site. They made it clear they will not refund the products. After swearing by the manager JP I was shown the door of the shop.

This is not a good supplier!!!I have tried numerous times to talj to these people about my problems and they do not respond. They had a complete system installed...the installers are unable to provide a coc nor did they explain the setup and operation of the system. We never received a tax invoice so we are unable to insure the system. I am not convinced that i have received the material that i paid for since i do not have an invoice to verify the stock.The battery that was installed keeps tripping for seemingly no reason.

Solar Man will disappoint you heavily with their lack or poor post sales customer service.We sent in our inverter for repairs which we bought from this company - oh what a huge let down. Never have I seen a company that has consultants that have such poor communication skills and absolutely no care to provide feedback. The various employees of this business NEVER call back when they say they will. They could not trace where our inverter is that was with them for over a month. They give you the run around and stories. What a horrible experience.I wish we bought our entire system from a company that values its customers and respect them as well! In a nutshell - there is non existent after sales service from this business- Zero!I say , run away from this company and find an alternative solar service provider.

Bought batteries from them with 5 year warranty. These batteries completely failed after 26 months with very light usage (was not used for load-shedding).Upon returning these batteries expecting them to be replaced as per warranty I was informed that all their batteries comes with a 24 month warranty only. The sales person who sold them to me had in fact lied to me when stating a 5 year warranty. Solarman took no responsibility, but instead shifted blame to this sales person who did not work there anymore.BTW. watch out for their Schubart brand. This is not an actual reputable manufacturer, it is Solarman's own internal product. It is rebranded fong-kong junk.

What a failure of a company, needed some small items to complete setup and they refuses because apparently they only do full setups. Had no problem selling me single batteries though. After it became clear I wasn't going to buy anything else the sales guy just left in the middle of a sentence while I was speaking to him.

Overall, I had a good experience with Solar Man. Was a rocky start, but in the end, the guys did their utmost best to help me with my faulty setup. Although I was annoyed at first, Brain handled the situation well and went out of his way to accommodate me. Along with Brian, JP's assistance was also greatly appreciated.Advice for the consumer: While you might have a broad understanding of the solar/backup power systems industry, ask all the questions you can think of - even if you already know the answers. The sales team understands their product well and they will be able to help or guide you with your setup.

Biggeste thiefs in Pretoria, they tell you that you receive a 2 year warranty on batteries and if your battery is not working as it should after 13months, then they tell you that they never give 2year warranty.The manager is very rude and does not really care about your situation and directly told me to buy products at another place.You will be stupid to try and buy some solar equipment from this thieves.

Bought two 240Ah Schubart gel batteries. Asked specifically if they have a warrenty and they said yes. After not even 3 months I took batteries back. They tested it and it was faulty. This is when they told the batteries does not have a warrenty. Batteries were not abused, overloaded or overcharged. Did not even run 25% load on it.I have mailed you the load profile as requested.

Sales People do very liitle to be helpfull. All siting / lying behind their desks.Brian was quite friendly, once I got helped.JP However is rude and disingenuous. He made commitments, and later backtracked.The quality of the products is highly questionalble, and Solar Man is not able, nor willing to back and support the products they sell.Will not do business with Solar Man again.
