Rustic Manor Guest House and Retreat

I had a really bad experience with host cancelling the booking at last moment causing lots of mental trauma. Beware of hidden charges and initial trap to set you in. Being a loner in Cape Town, faced hardships in managing alternate options.

Great host, nice property.The rooms are not insulated well so it is cold even with a heater. There is no noise blocking so you could easily hear what’s happening next door.I would stay again if I am in Tokai.

I went down to Cape Town for several days recently and chose to book in at Rustic Manor. As it turned out - an excellent decision. The accommodation was spotless, tasteful and comfortable. The room had everything I needed and, even being on my own, I felt safe. The setting is peaceful and the staff helpful. I would have no hesitation in recommending Rustic Manor to anyone.

Place has good and clean facilities and most of the staff are friendly. I had late night work in the area and needed a place to sleep till in the afternoons. The location of my work changed and requests to cancel the last few days were flat out refused and I am not happy about not being able to speak to the owner and communication with the receptionist was met with ‘you won’t get any refunds’ and a promise that maybe she’d speak to the owner but then never followed up. Got given a room right next to the reception area which was constantly busy and on the first day I asked about the noise. Met with disdain by the same receptionist who’s chats with anyone in the area are extremely loud. Asked her to mention to a maintenance team who decided to work and then lunch outside my window to keep it down which she didn’t bother to do on one morning and I had to point out to them that I was trying to catch up on sleep. Breakfast was a let down, No milk/yoghurt/breads as mentioned on the notice either. Pretty lame experience unfortunately for what otherwise could have been a pleasant stay.

A lovely, affordable and safe guest house in central Tokai, surrounded by beautiful trees and gardens. The room was spacious and was well equipped.

Surprised that the guesthouse was so accomodating, fresh, easy going, friendly. Thanks Caroline for being the ultimate host. I forgot my monitor there, and they were so helpful to assist me the next day for an early collection. Really good. All the facilities you look for in a guesthouse was there. Will be back for sure.

We spent 2 nights @ this delightful little B&B in Tokai. It was in Room 1 which had 2 separate bedrooms. Absolutely spotless & very comfortable. Beds were the best with lovely soft linen. Highly recommended.

What a great little venue hidden in Tokai. It's so close to an urban area, yet, when you're there, it feel far away in some resort.First of all, this is more boutique hotel than guest house.And the rooms are generous - in fact, you get bigger rooms than you would get in many hotels - which is a bonus.The venue is well-appointed with an entertainment area, pool, breakfast/dining area and free parking on site.The rooms come fully equipped for self-catering and finishes are of a high quality.Linen service is also sharp and on point.There could be a slightly better accommodation made for wheelchair users.

Our stay was absolutely perfect. Spotlessly clean, spacious rooms with everything anyone could need. Cozy too! Stunning, well maintained outdoor and communal areas. Jade and Ntombe were absolutely lovely, and took great care of us. Tasty breakfast. We stayed one night and booked another after that, we loved it so much! We’ll absolutely be back on our next Cape Town trip!
