Prince Albert Country Store and Stay

Our stay at the milking shed was absolutely exemplary in every way. The designer eye of the owners is evident in every stunning detail from the beautiful landscaping and use of timber to the perfectly pressed linens and fabulously comfortable bed. It looks like something from a magazine.Superbly comfortable, very good value and capturing the textures of the era wonderfully. The owners are exceptionally hospitable, charming and clearly at the top of their field. I highly recommend the milking shed for a more self contained option with a lovely pool and two outside sitting areas.The antique shop and store also has some really fabulous pieces.Highly, highly recommended - one of the best places I have ever stayed in anywhere.

We had such a wonderful time in the lovely town of Prince Albert but an even more special time at Country Stay. My parents, husband, and I absolutely loved visiting here. We were welcomed with refreshing and delightful lemonade. The decor is stunning! Absolutely love the cream and country feel. So cozy and comfortable, really lovely rooms. The hosts were so kind and such a pleasant encounter. Beautiful gardens and pool. We felt so rested and were able to enjoy a lovely breakfast with fruit, fresh ginger, homemade granola, and local honey, followed by poached eggs, spinach from the garden, mushrooms, sweet potato, and much more! The antique shop has beautiful pieces too! This is a must visit for anyone traveling through Prince Albert.

What a special place to stay. Immaculately clean rooms with the most gracious hosts. Delicious breakfast and a plunge pool! Cyclist friendly and a great place to cycle the pass from.

This charming Edwardian home, which has been sensitively converted into a stylish boutique B&B, is situated in the heart of the village of Prince Albert. It is run by Colleen & William Penfold, who live on the premises and whose attention to detail, whether it's the garden, the little adjoining antique shop or the meals, makes staying there an unforgettable experience. All the rooms are quiet and comfortable, with beautiful quality bedlinen. The small swimming-pool in the garden is perfect to slough off the heat of a Karoo sun-filled day. I can't recommend it highly enough.

We absolutely loved our stay! The owner, Colleen, and her right hand lady, Melinda, went out of their way to let you feel at home. The rooms are beautifully furnished, spotless clean and crisp. The coffee station was a nice treat for a lazy afternoon. Breakfast was a delicious treat. And do yourself a favor... Buy the Amsterdammers in the country store! 1 is most definitely NOT enough.

We had a truly relaxing stay in Prince Albert at the Country store. Our room was charming and we enjoyed a private balcony. The gardens are great to sit and relax in, and the breakfast was perfect. Highly recommend spending time here when in Prince Albert.

Super friendly owners who are very welcoming. Very nice rooms and atmosphere. Delicious breakfast beyond what I expected.
