Quick and easy, just an FYI if you wear a buffer you will not be allowed in. You must wear a mask. Renewed my drivers license which was simple enough but the longest part was the payment line, all in all around 1.5 hours.Staff are very friendly and helpful. Decent amount of at the front.I have attached a picture of the various costs.

I was pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of the Parow Traffic Department when I had to obtain a licence to tow my caravan. Given the amount of foot traffic, they were exceptionally efficient.

DLTC Parow still has no backup power solution. Loadshedding is not their fault, but getting a basic generator or solar and battery solution is not that difficult either. This whole week there are scheduled blackouts between 8:00 and 10:30 and occasionally again at 14:00 - they close at 15:30. Huh?! What is the point being open? There is ZERO queue management; people arrive not knowing which queue to join and no communication from staff. The security at the entrance can simply communicate to the people arriving before 8am that they won't be open until 10:30 when power gets back on. Simple signs would go a long way to inform people which queue to join. Surely by now someone in charge could have appealed to the business community or municipality for a back-up solution to keep at least the lights and computers on?

Staff's very friendly and they are very efficient. Only thing is that government should upgrade their old equipment so they can work with ease..also, the mew online system might help them. Very friendly staff. Most pleasant experience at a traffic department.

At this place, they act like they are doing you a favour, not at your service. You're on their clock and command. I got there at 14h55, guard told me I was late to arrive as they close at 15h00 so that they can leave promptly by 16h00, which is the closing hour shown for the centre.Noteworthy is that their PDP medical forms expire after 2 months. I missed that part due to faded stamp and small text as attached. There are traffic departments that don't have that restriction e.g. Milnerton where my friend did his PDP. So be aware of that when you choose to renew PDP license, go to a flexible centre to save time and inconvenience, not to mention the cost, of redoing the medical form. The eye tester insisted on speaking isiXhosa with me although I explained I speak Sesotho as a home language. She should have at least tried to speak my home language as I'm at her service, not the other way round. She didn't want to speak English, I found that amusing for lack of better description. I wonder if she does that to other non isiXhosa speaking civilians who visit the centre? The admin and cashier staff are very thorough, polite and friendly. Super welcoming. I enjoyed their interaction. Nice to hand one's hard earned cash over to a friendly person. Without them I would have rated this centre a zero. So the entire 3 stars go to them and their pleasant demeanour. I thank them for that, may they keep that up. They are a beacon of hope in there. It started off hostile from entry when I insisted on being helped. Went on to be that way with guards telling me and other civilians to move it along, shuffle on the chairs. I mean when queuing, I can decided to delay moving on to next seat. Moving faster does not speed up the queue when not in the front seat plus I was the last person in the queue. I felt bullied into compliance, not on at all in my view. I chose peace and complied, after all I was not there for any of that, my eyes were set on the end goal, gettin my PDP renewed. All the other happenings is a reflection of the style of management that I experienced on arrival. Manager talked like this with me: I don't want my queues getting long when it's almost time for my staff to go home". I was like "oh

This is the best traffic department in cape town with fantastic staff. My journey has been great from booking my learners to getting my licence all in parow. My examiner Mr Johnson was amazing during the test, he made me feel at ease with his jokes but he was professional throughout the test. Keep up the good work guys
