An eclectic eatery, we loved the globe-trotting surfer vibe with distinctly KwaZulu-Natal roots. Eugene and Sebastian knocked out socks off with their hospitality. Dessert (coconut sorbet) and drinks (kombucha) were delicately prepared and delicious. Will be back!

While holidaying in Salt Rock, we discovered Eugene and his Mfino (Zulu for wild spinach) Eatery in the local Get It magazine. His mushroom and parmesan risotto was superb - so flavourful, as was his delicious prawn chowder. We also had his local plum and cinnamon ice cream which was so awesome it was finished by the time we got home. Google's directions aren't spot on, so just follow directions to his neighbour Breadologie. Better than collecting lunch, would be eating in at Mfino. It's a small, but cozy and authentic spot. Seating is limited, but we intend going back so we can chat to Eugene and pat his gorgeous golden retriever, Moya, again. A gem in Salt Rock that you must visit!

This is an amazing place - Mfino eatery is set in lush surroundings with tasty homemade food and a warm and welcoming reception. It has a lovely vibe with chilled music & I would recommend the homemade ice cream, chowder & risotto - what a flavour bomb. It's a unique spot, worth trying out & the creation of a locally born & bred chef. Thank you Eugene!
