One of thw oldest gyms in the country but well maintained....lots of treadmills so youll never have to wait... great location and excellent service by staff... they even have a bike rack.

Overall nice gym, but you need to improve on your turnaround to fix equipment. Today there is more out of order cardio equipment than working ones and the queues on busy days are too long. Please fix this asap.

This is one of the best kept gyms I've ever been to. There is always someone cleaning machines, floors, bathrooms etc, or reracking/adjusting weights etc. And that makes a big difference in comfort for focusing on training.The revamp that was done recently has made the place look even better.Some machines are down longer that expected, some other gyms have newer, fancier machines, but over all, it's a good machines selection, big weight lifting area, good cooling system and pleasant atmosphere.

Some middle-aged lady around 40-45 of age screemed at me for using an old card yesterday,instead of the new one, while tagging in. I thought I had lost the old one but ended up finding it while I had requested a replacement card.

Clean, spacious (mostly) and with wide variety of machines to use. Most of the staff and regulars are also friendly and courteous. I highly recommend the Meyersdal gym over the NewMarket one.

The equipment and lighting has been upgraded. I’m very happy with the space and equipment in this gym. It does tend to get full after 17:00, so you need to be a little patient.

I started a fitness group which I called Alpha Fitness, with fellow gym members I'd met at Virgin Active. These fine folks have become life long friends, and it certainly wouldn't have happened without our shared love of a fit and healthy lifestyle. However, the common denominator in all these great relationships(50+ ppl) was undoubtedly Virgin Active and it's wonderful workout culture. The photos are all the wonderful folks I've met at VA Brightwater, when that branch was still around. Now we gym at various VA's, Bryanston, Randburg, Victory Park etc :)
