Fernhill Guest Farm & Tented Treehouses

What a beautiful place!! So magical between the trees and the fireflies really did put the cherry on the cake! Warm reception and welcoming and the tent was clean, neat and very comfortable. The cozy farm environment and animals makes the place feel very homely and we loved the walk between the animals and especially in the forrest.Thank you so much for the lovely brownies, and peaceful surroundings, we loved it and highly recommend!!

Fernhill is the perfect place to wake up to in the morning. Close enough to town, far away enough to find complete serenity & quiet. Tucked into the farmlands, the land is SO lush & green, with the sweetest farm animals & softest grass. I've stayed in the cottages twice now, built beautifully, they are very clean & tidy and each cottage is decorated tastefully to a different theme. The bedding is luxurious, excellent stoep with braai leading on to a private garden, comfy couches, great service, good people. There is a lovely walk on the farm & it feels safe & homely. Highly recommend!

Fernhill is a piece of heaven on earth. Welcomed by family like hospitality with the most delicious home baked chocolate brownies. The fresh air, sounds of nature and twinkling beauty of fireflies at night. Delicious ice cream made with fresh cows milk delivered to your doorstep. The beds and bed linen so comfortable that you are transported on a cloud to dreamland. Step outside to be graced with the company of beautiful horses wanting attention and to be appreciated. Beautiful walks on the farm and surrounds where you meet farm animals all along the way. My soul has been restored and feel rejuvenated and cannot wait to return to the warm, friendly sanctuary of Fernhill. Xxx

The brownies were the best, as well as milking Liefie the cow and feeding the lambs. Marcelle is an excellent host and gave us so much information of what to do on the 3 days that we were there. Much appreciated!

We had a very friendly and positive experience staying here. Tents were great and the views splendid. Well equipped.Beds was a little soft for us but that is a personal preference. For the BBQ good to take a brush with to clean the grid and tongs to move coals around. We tried the local ice cream and it was super creamy and delicious. Great choice!

What an amazing experience we had.This is really a good break away no wifi no tv just nature and relaxation to recharge.Fun farm activities are offered from milking cows,feeding rabbits and feeding chickens to feeding baby calves. I would recommend this for families with kids to experience great out doors and good quality bonding time. This place is also very suited for couple's that need a good switch off and reconnect.

We had such a pleasant stay here. We were hosted warmly by Marcelle, and loved the accommodation in the trees. The bath with a view of the fire was a real treat. We loved the animals on the farm and even got to milk a cow. The real milk and ice cream are also highly recommended

What an amazing experience. Thank you so much Fernhill and especially Mia. We had such a relaxing time here. We will be back soon, maybe with the kids, I am sure they will love it. This tent/Tree house was affordable, clean and luxury glamping at its best. Ps. Electric blankets was a bonus.

We had our family of 17 stay at Fernhill Guest farm occupying 3 cottages and 1 tent over the New Years period.Positives:- Farm life providing complete freedom for kids to run around in a safe environment and be involved with farm animals.- Our tent was perfectly located in amongst the trees/nature.- Central communal braai area for larger groups.- Once you are there you can enjoy the surroundings with no need to go anywhere else, park your car and relax.- Comfortable beds with quality linen.- Free/ fresh milk.- Delicious home made ice creams available to purchase.- Not far from popular beaches.Negatives:- No drinking water provided and no warning on website about this.- Bad quality towels- Lack of communication with guests and ability to handle situations in a professional manner regarding our New Year celebration resulting in our evening ending on a bad note just after midnight.- Refrigerator space minimal.- Hot water kept switching off.- No hot water for the outside sinks to wash dishes- Walking routes poorly marked.- A family tent to accommodate 4 was promised to us when we booked but closer to the time when asked about it we were informed they hadn't got around to building it.- No lighting around pathways/boardwalks to tents. Solar lights would be ideal for these so you don't fall off the boardwalk trying to get to your tent.Loads of potential to be an awesome experience if certain hospitality details are focused on. Small things like replacing the candles between the changing over of guests and offering new towels should guests stay for longer than 3 days as an example.Kids had a great time.
