Easy walk from Sanddrift camp site. Very clean rockpools. Great to cool off after a hike or just dip in on a hot day. Or just enjoy the serene surrounds. The rocks are very slippery and smooth so be careful when going in or climbing out. Wear good walking shoes as the path has lots of stones and also some thorns from the shrubs. Mother Natures gift to us.

Difficult walk over rocks with trail overgrown with plants. Not for senior, unfit people.First pay the permit fee of R40 at the Sandrivier reception then drive back to where the Maalgat is past the camping area. The water is clean but cold. Some picnic benches under the trees at the parking would be nice.

Maalgat Rock Pool
Beautiful place for swimming. Great place also for small children. Short walk from Sandrif campsite. 10 Minutes for a fit person 30 minutes if you are not used to walking.

Clean and beautiful. Basically a walk rather than a strenuous hike.

Really nice place to jump in and have a swim in refreshing mountain water, I would say it is a bit sketchy jumping into water where you can't see anything, though.

So piece full, tranquil, so much fresh air. There is like a baby pool" as well as a deep dive pool in the rocks think the ledges to jump off is 4m 8m and 15m. I was too scared ti do the 15m but 8m jump was awesome. It is about a 20 minute hike from whwre you park the cars to get to the maalgat pool but definitely worth the walk... My suggestion is not yo take a cooler bag... Bit let everyone carry their own drink in a backpack as over tje stones and uneven terrain it us a big challenge with a cooler bag... And obviously you have to bring back your empties as there is no dustbin there"
