I swear these people don't actually want customers in their shop. Been there a handful of times and only got a welcome twice. Three times I've been there and one of the employees seemed to be having some kind of personal situation going on very loudly - once the lady behind the counter kept saying she couldn't find her lipstick. I waited for a good while, ready to pay, and she just looked me dead in the eye and kept repeating that she can't find her lipstick, not even offering to ring me up. Today someone had a skin problem. When I worked retail we would have been expected to have our meltdowns behind closed doors, so I honestly don't get how they act like this in front of customers. Skin problem lady also started watching something on her pc? That's so weird to me, like, at least wear headphones, you know? In the end, the prices I was charged didn't even match the prices I was given by the other employee. It's a hassle to shop there and it feels like you're trespassing in someone's living room. Go somewhere else.

Absolutely awful customer service from one lady in particular. Shouting at your customers and putting the phone down on them is unacceptable behavior from any business.

At first I thought I'd give the store a chance in spite of reading their NUMEROUS 1 star ratings because it's my closest branch.After experiencing THE MOST unexpectedly rude encounter from someone with ZERO tact or customer skills, I implore you to NOT SUPPORT THIS STORE! All 1 star reviews are on the money, please read these poor ladies experiences as well. Nobody should be treated so poorly by someone that is only human, who does she think she is? I'm sure she wouldn't like it if someone else treated her similarly. This is the last thing I expected from a manager (shocking!!) She completely ruined my morning. I had short snappy responses and the phone put down on me. She lives in her own head and needs to wake up and realize that she's dealing with people who have feelings.Instead of gaining what would most likely have been a lifetime customer, she's 100% lost one for the business. If anyone reading this knows if there is some sort of management higher up that can be contacted to let them know about her and potentially fire her please let me know.I am TOTALLY put off which is sad because I know the brand is great. Instead of calmly and patiently assisting me with my queries and potentially advising me on which sort of machine I should rather opt for, she completely disregarded what I had to say and didn't offer any solutions. I'd be ashamed of myself if I were her, thankfully I'm not. just WOW!

I am giving this branch 1 star because of one person. The woman I assume is the manager of the shop is a very rude person with no customer service skills. I ordered a walking foot for my machine on Friday at Elana (a very nice staff member assisted me) she said she’ll order it and I can come get it when it arrives. I told her I’ll probably pop in again on Monday since malls are a no-go zone for me on weekends. She said that’s fine. This morning (Saturday) I receive a call from someone, she just says ‘hello’ so I say hi who’s speaking? She said so and so from elna, your walking foot is here you need to fetch it. I said I’m not sure if I can come by today I can possibly come by tomorrow. To which she replied no tomorrow is a new month we need this payment today, we close at 6pm. And I asked what the problem is if it’s a new month? She said it’s not your problem it’s our problem like I’ve explained already (she didn’t explain much). All this with the rudest and defensive tone. I have never. She gives the store a bad name. Then I went in to fetch it, said nothing because I’ve learnt that when you have nothing nice to say don’t say anything. And I had nothing nice to say to this woman. She said I needed a lesson on how to put the foot on. I said coldly I’ll watch a YouTube video. She still insisted and shouted to her colleague to give me the lesson (who was clearly with a group of customers already.)

Went in to buy some embroidery thread. There was a sign placed above the embroidery shelves saying 15% off everything so I double checked with the lady who was there to see if it was in fact on sale. She rolled her eyes at me and in the rudest manner possible said that the embroidery threads were super cheap so “obviously” they weren’t on sale and the sign applied to the sewing machines (this wasn’t made clear by the sign) I would have been happy to pay the full price but the lady was so rude I walked away on the spot. A customer is a customer, no matter how much money they plan to spend in your store.

Had a lesson today on how to thread my new overlocker. The lady was so kind and patient. It was more like a lovely visit with a friend than a class. Loved every second.

I have visited Elna shop and with a friend, and I have not had any problems from either shop assistants, very friendly and she remembered me who had not been a regular shopper there. Sorry go other reviews, think one must go in with a good attitude and look friendly, it works both ways.Patricia

Called in connection with getting my machine serviced. The woman answers the phone yes". As if I was interrupting her day! What an extremely rude woman. "You should dump your machine and buy a new one" the nerve!Leave it to an old South African lady to give the Swiss brand a bad name. Retire."
