Initially I was impressed by how soon I was contacted after my internet query I was given a call to setup an appointment. However, Mercia didn’t consider that the appointment would be on a public holiday. Fixr/Mercia did not call me to cancel and only when I followed up ten minutes before the appointment was due to take place on the public holiday, did she say that the person would not be coming out. Mercia was good at following up over the next days to reschedule. At the time of the next appointment I phoned at exactly the agreed upon time to find out whether the workman (John) was on his way. I did not have his number, but Mercia assured me when we set up the appointment that she would give him mine. Mercia did not answer, which is in itself understandable because it was a Saturday morning. However, I did not receive any communication from John to say that he would be late. He tried to call me 35min after the allotted time, but I missed his call. I called him back 15min later when I noticed the call, only for him to say that he was already almost back at the office. He claimed that he had tried to reach me, and accused me of ignoring his call because he was late. If I was made to wait without any communication from him, surely he could have waited a few more minutes. In any event, I had another appointment to go to and given John’s unwillingness to be apologetic for his lateness and the ease with which he jumped to blame me, I cannot recommend Fixr for their professionalism.

Would not recommend. We did a full bathroom renovation. The plumber constantly arrived late and on the first day they only left our home at 7pm and we had to call him back to straighten up the shower trap, had we not done that it would have been tiled in skew.1. During the bathroom renovation, the feature wall was not done correctly even though we explained to them more than once2. Once tiling was done, nobody assisted in cleaning up any dust or grout residue. This resulted in the plumber attaching the taps, the vanity and the shower on dirty surfaces. Toilet paper was used to clean up edges where silicon was applied, thus meaning that it was applied on a dirty surface. Again the plumber arrived late (a full day after it was initially indicated to us he will be there the day before). They then only left at 8pm on the day, again not attempting to clean after they were done.3. The attachment of the bathroom towel railings, paper holder, tumbler, etc was a long debate. After they then agreed to do what supposed to already be initially included in the quote, I had to myself assist them in holding the shelves while they drilled, unacceptable!!!! My husband had to go out and buy extra tools as this was not brought with.4. The current laminate floors in the bedroom was badly scratched due to their negligence and is now clearly visible.5. They offered to repaint the window frames, I regret this everyday as they charged us for it and did a pathetic, sloppy job.Furthermore, we only saw John twice during the whole project, we would have expected him to come by a little more often, to see what is going on and ask if we, as the client, are happy, what are the frustrations, etc. But he seemed to have disappeared after he received the money. And lastly the crack that they supposedly repaired has now opened up again.

I asked for a quote, was asked to send photos. After sending them, I never received anything for over 2 weeks. Sent an email to follow up, still no response.Decided to phone John, he promised me to send them within the hour, still waiting the next day.Incredibly unprofessional and clearly don't want the business or have the decency to even respond. Very sad

John and the FixR team have been great.They have been professional, responsive and a pleasure to deal with. The time estimate for the job has been spot on.The quality of the workmanship has been what I expected and I am very happy overall.All my issues were dealt with promptly and no job was too small to too much trouble. The team addressed my snag list without hesitation.John and his senior staff have paid a lot of attention to the job and were constantly on site.I have recommended them to others already.

You have done several roofs for us over the years in our complex and your service has always been excellent. We appreciate your professional advice and careful attention to detail before and after completion.

Friends of ours recommended John of FIXR to do the renovation of our pool from fibreglass to marbalite. He was punctual and professional and regularly came to the site to monitor the process. His team worked smoothly without any hassles. Only issue was the company who supplied the bladders for the storage of our water, came with one when two were required, and were late on the day that FIXR wanted to start. They arrived at 15h00 when they should have arrived at 11h00. Would definately recommend them.

John refused to quote me claiming he was here 2 years prior. Someone who lived here prior to me needed a quote and he didn't get the job now he refuses to quote me. He clearly does not need the business and has no etiquette. Let me ask if he didn't get the job back then I bet there was a good reason either he was more expensive or treated his customers with the same disregard as he treated me. Sies man John and for you to do this after we arranged a time to last minute you cancel. Shocking
