Ruimsig parkrun

Lovely course. I went on a muddy day and we either had to wait in line to cross over small bridges" or stomp through the water. So just be aware if planning to give it a try on a post rain day. However

Very good flat parkrun. Single lap that goes across a stream that unfortunately has a foul smell mostly. Highly recommended to do this run if you're in the area

Hi yes great stadium, great for the parkrun, however security I believe a problem and the toilets are in a terrible state currently and need attention but a great venue and thanks for making the water hazards easier for us thanks again

A moderate terrain with a couple of steep inclines. Route well signposted. Marshalls friendly and helpful. Scenery beautiful with some good views.

Ruimsig Parkrun is run professionally by the officials and we are one happy family, thanks to all the volunteers and the time keepers, everything is spot on... Ruimsig Parkrunners rock... A truly rainbow nation by heart and soul not by some red tape or legislative systems imposed on anyone.

True to its name Ruimsig has accommodating views as you wind your way though a mix of fields of the Roodepoort Sports complex, across bridges, over water, sections of dirt track with varying terrain which in places requires you to be sure footed onto another field the rising on a wide ledge overlooking the cricket oval, giving wide views over the nearby informal settlement and wetland to take you back across a section which will be fun after some rain then along the dam wall and to return to the start area through an avenue of trees. This not a flat course so it will keep you focused and will push your heart rate up. Bravo to the Tail Walker for patiently escorting two old folks along the walk.Well organised, enthusiastic marshalls and plenty of parking, dogs allowed. I would definitely do it again.
