after many months of reading up and planning, I bought a fitted BAFANG 500W/48V system from Chilled Squirrel, and was impressed with their service/knowledge, and getting the conversion 'spot-on'. Rode 25km yesterday, and the mid-drive does everything they said it would, so am enjoying the pedal assistance - especially up Chappies! Well done, good job!2 months later....Have done 20-odd rides with the Chilled Squirell/BAFANG motor, exceeded my expectations: i can get 110km distance from a single charge, when not using the 'throttle' too much!Have done a very nice ride around Cape Point - 80km in distance - and the motor helped much with the riding into a near Gale Force South-Easter!Had a free initial tighten-up service back at Chilled Squirell, and now getting a small modification to my battery - quite simply, the product has exceeded my expectations!RIDE ON! Chilled Squirrel Electric bikes
Chilled converted my Scott carbon MTB to mid-drive ebike in 2021. I have since ridden close to 8000 km, mostly on gravel roads in the KZN midlands, hence rough terrain with lots of climbing. This year, I rode Berg 100 with the help of a second battery. I am planning to ride the Shova in two weeks’ time. Apart from a few electrical problems, this has been a success story. I am female, 73 years old.12 May 2023: Today I reached 10 000 km on my e-bike! Still going strong.

I dealt with Graham at Chilled Squirrel many years ago, discussing e-bikes. He then suggested that rather than buying another bike, to simply covert my Giant 29er, which they did. I ended up with a larger battery, more power and all at a third of what a new bike would have costs. Still working like a dream.

Communication since I filled in the form on the web site was regular and clear. Advice, suggestions and delivery time was better than the original estimates. The products was very good on delivery, and the installation of the electric components neat and tidy.Sending of photos via email while building the bicycle was also exciting and welcome. The quality of the bicycle components are very good, and the overall experience of ordering and getting the electric bicycle from Chilled Squirrel was great. Thank you to all the people involved.

Ordered my bike online and was impressed with the remarkable service given by the Chilled Squirrel staff. There were delays, through no fault of there’s, and the staff kept me informed the whole time of what was happening. In fact, they very kindly upgraded components on my Marula bike to compensate for the wait. This is a gesture I really appreciated very much.I live in George, the best environment for mountain biking, and my experience on the bike thus far has been outstanding.I’m really looking forward to visiting the Chilled Squirrel crowd in Cape Town when next i am in that part of the world. You guys rock - a special thank you to Fouzia.

Best advice and best prices. Matt is highly knowledgeable when it comes to the latest and greatest e-bikes. You won't catch him installing a cheap battery or motor in any e-bike. They only use the latest Samsung cells and the best control units. They are built to last! The technology really is amazing! You can change your pedal assist, throttle sensitivity, maximum speed and so much more! Chilled Squirrel is definitely the best place to buy your next E-Bike!

We bought a rear drive Sandeater for my wife previously, and we both really love it :). The service experience with Matt, Tyrone and rest of the team have been excellent. When I wanted a new mid drive Sandeater for myself, I did not hesitate to contact them. The bikes are really great quality, but the friendly and helpful after sales support from the team is what will make me go back to them all the time.Thank you so much guys!

I just love my e-bike. I can highly recommend an e-bike from Chilled Squirrel. The battery last a very long time and if I need speed, it is always there. I have had my e-bike for more than 3years, and I had no problems what so ever. I think the e-bike will become more and more popular with old and young.

Discovered Chilled Squirrel by chance on line. Since then the support and process to finally get the right specifications and exactly hat you as a customer needs was very special. My Marula arrived on Thursday. One small ride over cloud 9 in Sedgefield last night and a big ride tomorrow tomorrow into Outeniqua escarpment tomorrow. So looking so forward. Really pleased with what I got. Thank you Fouzia and team.
