Lebo's Soweto Backpackers

The staff at Lebo's is incredibly friendly! They invited us to hang out with them outside their work hours & taught us a lot about Soweto history. Don't miss the tours either. We were fortunate enough to be there on Youth Day (16 June) & went on a special bike ride to visit sites that are crucial to Soweto history & the fight against apartheid. It was an amazing experience all around. Don't miss out on Lebo's!

Today was one of those days that make me so grateful to be alive. Siya took me on a bile tour of his incredible home - Soweto. I experienced the welcome, the warmth and the incredible insight he had to offer. Truly a experience I will not forget

I went on a fabulous 2 hour bike tour of a small part of Soweto. It’s the highlight of my trip so far. Great to learn more of the history of this important community in person. Everyone was so friendly. The guide was excellent and it came with a delicious lunch after! Highly recommended! I didn’t stay here but took an Uber from the central business district area. The hostel looks very cute, too.

We’ve had such an awesome 4h bike tour with our guide Linda. He is from Soweto and knows everything and everyone. We even got to meet his lovely family during a quick stop. Lebo’s Hostal is also awesome. One of my favorites so far. The staff goes out of their way to make your stay perfect. Thank you all for the best experience <3

Very nice place with a cool outdoors restaurant. All the staff there are incredibly friendly and witty. Also the bike tour is defientively a must.

Lovely place and lovely people! Make sure to stay here when you visit joburg. You will not regret it!

The place is very clean and has modern finishes. Great service from the staff. The dining area outside was a nice touch. I loved that the place was peaceful enough and I could get some work done, which is not always the case with most backpackers. However, the location is quite challenging to reach with public transport but of course you can use an Uber, which became a costly exercise for me since I had a lot of travelling to do during my stay.
