This home affairs used to be moderately good to excellent they were very efficient and the staff is friendly nice and helpful now since covid its become a standard or 2 lower, yes you will get helped depending on what it is your doing you can queue for 4/5 hours and still not get helped they cut of the line regardless of what time u arrived.Arrived at 12:20 left at 3:30 to the ladies coming out telling you at 3:30 they don't allow anymore people in.Yet since you need what they are offering one will wait or pay, one thing that I opted for was getting one of the street guys to queue for me the following day I gave him something between 150 - 200 so that when I arrived I was in front of the line since I'm on lunch break. I can't take 3hours off my lunch break.They only let in 1 - 3 people from a designated queue at a time, they close at 3:30pm open at 8am pure torcher standing outside no chair no nothing I suggest if you doing temp ID or reprinting to bring your own camp chair , I guess one is Thankful that we do have these services.

Unfortunately there were very long queues for walk in clients which may it not worth waiting. The gentleman at the entrance was abrupt. In the street plenty scammers asking you to phone a number to be fast tracked to the front of the queue for a fee. Don't fall for it - all a scam. Makes the experience rather unsafe.

The staff is friendly and respectful from the entrance up to the internal team. The place is clean and organised. I was helped by a lady by the name Thembekile , she was so helpful and efficient...I would recommend this place, the staff is there to work.

Best service ever. I applied for my passport on the 24th of March and received an sms on the 6th for collection and just collected today. Tip: their effectiveness shines when you book online to avoid the queues but still with queues, they manage to help.

Very smooth process getting a replacement ID card. Make sure to book ahead of time on the online systems, then wait a couple weeks before the Smart card is ready

Still as pleasant and as efficient as ever! I applied for replacement passport and ID online and I collected my new passport a week later.When I first tried to go there for my biometrics last Monday (the day I applied), I was advised to make an appointment booking online [using the DHA Branch Appointment Booking System] to avoid standing in long queues.Best advice ever, because I got an appointment for that Wednesday afternoon (2days later) and walked right in when I went for my appointment and spent less than an hour doing the fingerprints, photo's and signing. I received a message to collect my passport the following Monday (3days later) and spent less than 15mins collecting that afternoon.Not many things work in this country, but the friendly staff at Alexandra Home Affairs do the things shem and I can say that with confidence because I had a similar experience when getting my first passport from there 10years ago. Please note, I first tried to make a booking through my banks branch in Sandton, but their slots were fully booked for over a month ahead and I'm glad I just went through home affairs.

Credit must be given where its due!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Home affairs Alexandra wowed me today I had a ID replacement booking for 13:00 I arrived at 12:59 at the door, got my ticket number and had my picture taken by 13:03 at 13:10 I was applying for the ID by 13:25 I was paying and done with everything in EXACTLY 25 mins I was done!!Well done HA Alex.Must also add that the staff is so friendly and helpful place was was clean and and all forms packed tidily on all their desks.

Better than expected-still took forever, even though we received SMS’s confirming documents were ready. Do yourselves a favor and make sure. You have all the necessary documentation(and double copies of necessary). 3 trips got sorted by making a noise, demanding answers and keeping details of who we spoke to. Don’t even think about using the bathrooms-they are disgusting.Also parking is terrible.
