Madikwe Lelapa Lodge, Madikwe Game Reserve

Madikwe Safari Lodge Lelapa sets high expectations before you get there and then systematically surpasses each one. We had an unforgettable Safari vacation there and for the most part felt we were at a 5-star lodge run by people in our family. The food is amongst the very best I’ve ever had and the hospitality top-drawer! Aaron, Noah, Precious, Gerty and the rest of the staff deserve high praise for delighting guests.Our guide, Mitch, was amazing and elevated our Safari experience. He is just an all round amazing bloke with deep knowledge about flora, fauna, astronomy,.. the list is long. My 8 year got so fond of him that he wept on our flight back.Lelapa will always be our home when we’re in South Africa! Hope we can go back soon.

The best experience everrr!!! My husband took me to Madikwe for my birthday. This was my first 5 star experience and OMG! All we did was eat, sleep, game drive, repeat! I even ordered off the menu and chef delivered. Our Ranger (Boraine) also gave an experience for the books. I’d recommend Lelapa to anyone, it’s perfect. Perfect doesn’t even describe it, there are absolutely no words to describe this place. One just has to experience it themselves.

Part of the Madikwe Safari Lodge is the Lelapa camp which is the family friendly lodge. We had an absolutely incredible holiday.Rooms: the rooms were clean, spacious, air conditioned and each room had its own private plunge pool that looked out to the most amazing views.Safaris: Madikwe is a big five game reserve, we saw 4 out of the 5 big five while on our holiday. There is an abundance of animals, birds, plants, insects, etc. And our very knowledgeable and patient guide, William, was happy to answer our hundreds of questions. We were continually impressed by his vast about of knowledge.Staff: from the minute we arrived the staff were nothing but welcoming, helpful and friendly.Food: there is definitely room for improvement in the meals. They offer a different menu at every meal - we liked the variety. But some meals were delicious while some were not good - they need to work on the consistency. They could also work on the speed of their service in the restaurant area.Highlights: the main pool has a watering hole right in front of it. You can spend the afternoon in the pool watching animals coming by for a drink. The awesome sunrises seen from the deck.

We've just left this wonderful place !! It's incredibly well run and the staff are special, they literally couldn't do enough for you!! Our game driver Mike is such a knowledgeable and great person , he's really is a credit to Madikwe !! Special mention to Bubbles aswell who really did go the extra mile to help our little one feel at home. If you're looking for a perfect place to experience your first safari, this is it !! The food and drink is pretty god damn special aswell
