Don't bother. Patients are treated with hostility, the food is terrible and don't get me started on sleeping arrangements. The nurses are on anti depressive medication. Not good.Carey Smorenburg.

I was here for a week, initially intended longer stay but I couldn't wait to get away from here. My medication was mixed up on two occasions. Staff were very unsympathetic, impatient and rather rude. Things like your Hairdryer, Nailclippers, perfume etc are taken and you need to request it if you need to use it. I felt imprisoned and couldn't wait to get out. A few days later I went to Crescent Clinic where I had been before and felt like I was home.

I have become aware of the contents of a post on this platform by my former patient, Ms PM, whom I treated 3 years ago in 2018. Whilst I would not usually post comment on open platforms, on the basis of patient privilege, given that this appears to have been substantially waived, by Ms P M and my professionalism is being questioned in the public domain, I have no option but to respond here. The aim of my response is to try and address her grievances and provide some insight into decision-making, at the time. I will refrain from disclosing personal information regarding treatment, diagnosis, or condition. Many of the allegations referred to in the post are factually inaccurate.Any conduct on my part was carried out with her best interests in mind. I do not take lightly my ethical duties in the medical profession, and am committed, at all times, to the management of each and every patient with their well-being and progress at the forefront. At times, I am required to take certain steps to uphold my ethical duty towards the public at large as well, and this case was no different.I take grave exception to your unsupported claims that I have in any way behaved unprofessionally. In essence, I did not disclose any confidential information to any party without consent. I also did not “force” her to take any steps that were not discussed with her, or that were not in her best interests.- I did meet with the employer, on request.- This was done with consent, which was given freely and voluntarily. We openly discussed my doing so, and there was no coercion, whatsoever.- During my discussions with the employer, I did not divulge any information outside the scope of that which you consented to my disclosing, at the time.I sincerely hope that this clarifies my position.I wish her all the best.Kind regards,Dr D A FeastMB ChB FCPsych (SA)Post grad Diploma in Addictions Care

My experience was great. I highly Recommend Akeso Clinic Kenilworth. The most friendly staff and very professional nursing staff, kitchen staff are so sweet and caring they will even keep your lunch or diner aside if you missed it because of a session with the psychiatrist or therapist. I felt brand new when i left the clinic. Thank you Akeso Kenilworth

Have been three times and clinic has got worse since it went under Netcare. They've def cut costs. Compared to a few years back, nursing staff are fewer, overworked and apathetic. Food is poor and they don't have hot drinks all day as previously. Non-smokers beware: Very little place outside to escape the smell from outdoor smoking area. Also gross sitting indoors next to people who reek of secondhand smoke. The so-called 'gym' is a tiny space with two old pieces of equipment crammed together. Rooms: Pretty good. Showers: Great. Programme: Good, and so are doctors/therapists. It can be tedious and annoying, but it works if you are willing to let it.

Incredible experience. All the staff members are super friendly and compassionate - especially the nurses, who were beautifully patient and caring. The food was exquisite, and the kitchen staff so accommodating, it was wonderful. The community was welcoming - do not underestimate the value of sharing this journey with the people you meet while you're there. My sessions with Ashley were insightful and enlightening. Would definitely recommend Akeso Kenilworth on your journey of returning to yourself.

My experience at Akeso was an amazing journey of self discovery as well as facing and dealing with my past pain and trauma and my triggers. My time there was invaluable and I would definitely recommend their program to any and everyone who needs help to face, deal with and overcome your past and present troubles and fears so that you too can experience living life without carrying the weight of the whole world on you. This program was exactly what I needed and then so much more.

I have no problem with Kenilworth Akeso Climic. They are phenomenal. This is about Dr Dot Feast. She shared confidential information with my employer without my consent. She tried to convince me it was in my and my employment interests. We had a screaming match, which is unusual for me. I had to get a second opinion. She is not trustworthy and she broke doctor patient confidentiality. She could be struck off the register for her behavior but I don't know her personal circumstances so I gave her a chance. I didn't choose her. She was the psychiatrist on call when I was admitted. She also referred me to a sister for no reason at all except for money. I'm rid of all that abuse when I was vulnerable. This is an addendum to my previous review. Dr Feast has tried to redeem herself on Hello Peter. She has never officially approached me or offered an excuse for her unreasonable behaviour. Perhaps only an official complaint to the medical board will make her change her tactics. She is a leech with a degree and accepted influence

Overall My Experience here was good, My Biggest Issue was The Kitchen only getting right after being here for 2 weeks...! There was One Nurse Auxiliary I had an Issue with but it was handled and Her attitude changed towards Me...! I recommend this Clinic for The Programme, The Friendly Staff, The Amazing Help, Assistance and The Food (Well, at least when they got My Diet Right) ...!
