Home Page - Umgeni Steam Railway (Official Website) | Umgeni Steam Railway. We are the home of steam locomotive preservation in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. We run steam train rides for tourists and visitors on the last Sunday of each month. The money raised allows us to restore and preserve our steam heritage.

The train ride was fantastic! We had a lot of fun! The market was a let down, not a lot of food options, food we did end up getting really wasn't good. The coffee stall was amazing and friendly. For the most part the other people by the stalls were quite rude and dismissive. The museum was great! Great to see the history involved!

Inchanga Railway Station
Historical train station run by the npo Umgeni Steam Railway. You can catch the steam train that runs from this station to Bothas Hill and back. This is my second time. A fun experience and also an insight as to how our forefathers traveled back in the day.A small flea market with a selection of food stalls awaits you on return to Inchanga. Highly recommended.

Stunningly kept train station by all those who still look after it. The museum next door holds some invaluable information regarding trains and railways. Beautiful to come here for a weekend visit.
