I've drove to PTA my self 3 time's and hand delivered everything asking to chech if everything is in order and got confirmation from the person's that all Documents are signed correctly and no Documents are needed, just to get response after more than a month that they've lost some of my Documents... I had to then collect all the document take it to SAPD to get Certified and also go to the bank again to get stamps...Then after the second time I've hand delivered and asked to check all documents again they've contact me for the 3rd time to tel me 1 of de documents wasn't signed.I had to go through all the same steps 3 time's an drove to PTA again... I've emailed them to confirm that all documents are in order and they've confirmed that everything is now 100%.I every week email to get update on progress and to make sure they didn't lost anything. I've mailed them and get Automatic response that they will contact me within 7 working days...Its now over a month and every week i mail them just to get Automatic response, but never got response from the fund to let me know what's going on or to at least inform me that everything is in order...

I have been calling the GPAA/GEPF since 19th of October. Called every two weeks without my situation being resolved. How are these people still employed. Can't believe they report to Pravin Gordhan. They just parked my issue for more than a month and when they finally got to work on my documents, they told me that they were still waiting for some documents. I stressed the fact that SARS wouldn't send the documents to them if there were documents missing. Suddenly the same day they call back after some few minutes and say they found them. Since the 29th of November, I was told that my documents have been with legal department. They got sent to payment by mid December. They are still there, after legal department's two months going through them. What can they be still doing at payment department after two months at legal? Are their lawyers that stupid that they can miss something that people at payment department still has to check. Government officials must know that after retirement, they are going to wait six months for their money. Useless people are working at the GPAA. Pravin Gordhan lost his touch!!!

It is a pity that there is not a star which remains empty if you click on it because they do not deserve even 1 star. Waiting and waiting for a payment statement I urgently need for the bank. Question is why must I, every year, ask for this statement? Is it not supposed to be sent to pensioners the moment your pension changes? I finally called, only to be informed 'sorry, we cannot answer your call at the moment. Call back in an hour.' HELLO? HOW CAN A GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENT REFUSE TO ANSWER ANY CALLS DURING WORKING HOURS? And the worst is that we can complain here until the moon turns green and they just shrug it off because they don't care.

We need to tax this benefit where employees of GOAA/GEPF can just ignore every call and email. Never been able to get someone on the other side of a phone or an answer by email where it was evident they actually read my query, just a stock copy and paste answer.

Don’t answer phone and if you do happen to get through you will hear ‘high call volumes’ for 40 minutes at least.

This Department is pathetic. I have submitted my proof of payment for them to just change surname in May 2019, I was asked to follow up every 2 weeks and when i do so they will tell me that they are still busy with it or a different irrelevent stories when you ask to speak to they manager they tell you that they going to tell you the something.

The 012 number is never answered and the toll-free number is not the GPAA but the GEPF. You can never contact or speak directly to anyone at the GPAA

I'm again trying to get hold of anyone. Nobody picks up the phone. I'm also a public servant. These people are not worthy to be called public servants. There is no one that holds them accountable and no one with integrity (contrary to their slogans). I don't know if they intellectually challenged, arrogant or plain incompetent.I've been sending them an insult on a weekly basis for the last 3 months. Either they don't care or read. I've send the Pretoria branch manager (Sessie) mails, no response. In Cape Town we have a saying A fish starts to rot from its head"Maybe I must try the President's hotline."

This Department is pathetic. I have submitted my divorce claim in May 2018, I was asked to follow up every 2 weeks only to find out that they are waiting for The Employers to contributions. I called the employer myself and was told that the contributions were already sent to them, they dragged me right up until November 2018, When I followed up I was told that my documents are lost. Had I not called them they would have threw my claim aside. I had to go out of way to get the documents together in a day and couriered it to them in order for this to be expedited, right up until now I am told that the claim is still with Legal. They ask you to call after every 2 weeks and you are told different stories. Every time you call them you speak to different people, with different stories. Sometimes they keep you holding for more that 45 minutes and then cut you off. When you email the Manager in charge she just escalates the email to who ever she wants, One minute you are told that the claim is in payment and then you are told its still in legal. There is a massive lack of communication in the department . I like to know how this department operates with such incompetent people??
