the fish stocks are very low, i dont remember at anytime having lived in middelburg hearing about the replenishing of indeginous fish stocks, yet we have a fisheries department and the parks board in our municipality. Our municipality hasn't done enough to encourage tourism to the is dam, instead keeps making it difficult fir the locals to visit by having exorbitant gate entrance fees.

Nice and safe and the toilets are clean and there is always toilet paper even on the open side of the dam. Very friendly staff as well.

Great and friendly service from the moment we reached the gate and throughout our stay. It's a great day for boating as there is a large jetty to launch from. The ablusions are cleaned daily however, they can get a bit dirty by late afternoon. If you're camping, be prepared for a windy stay especially in the afternoon and bring extra rope!
