Smeg Showroom in Umhlanga

Don't buy from this company. They outsource their customer service and it is terrible. I had a fridge which rusted. The lady told me that they were only available on a specific day between 8:30-12:00. They specified that they can only be there during this time. After waiting almost 4 hours I called them to see where they were. The lady said oh to be honest with you we won't make it, but we can come this afternoon sometime after 2pm. She did not even bother to inform me that they couldn't make it. They simply didn't show up. Then she calls me a week later to say they want to replace the door. I made sure to confirm the date and time with her at least 4 times, after her last mess up. What do they do? Call me a day early while I'm at work to say they are waiting outside my house. And each time they refuse to give you an appointment time and say they can either come before 12 or after 12 and expect you to wait 4 hours at a time. Its pathetic. Also the one technician was working with dirty hands and leaving white residue on everything he was touching.

If you live in Durban parts take 3 - 4 working days just to get from jhb to Dbn. Nothing is kept in Dbn. So when things go wrong you wait. I am waiting 3-4 weeks for parts coming from Italy because not even jhb has it. So for a premium brand that you pay more for, you also have wait longer when things go wrong. Tell me why I spent more on Smeg?????? Not a smart move on my part.

High quality products , great service and very kind staff . Can't desire more

If I could give half a star, I would! I purchased a 4-slice Smeg toaster and a Smeg kettle last year April (2021). I have since returned the kettle after 6 months from purchase date, after it formed a bubble around the top of the kettle and I also had to return the toaster after 3 months from date of purchase (it just stopped working), then last week, I had to return that one too as it also stopped working.For the ridiculous prices of these items, one would think that their appliances would last a good few years... I honestly would not recommend any appliances under this brand!!! They are a rip-off!My previous much cheaper kettle and toaster lasted years, I am very disappointed in the quality of the Smeg brand!

My daughter gifted me with red smeg kettle and toaster .3 yrs nw and as it gets hot the red paint is peeling off ..really disapointed as i dnt usn harsh cleaner on it

Waiting over 3 months for simple spares.SMEG couldn't be bothered with the inconvenience of customers.WILL NEVER TOUCH AN SMEG AGAIN.

Awful company , no service back up and endless problems with the whole range of products

Stay far far far far away from Smeg products. They delivered a brand new oven with rusted handles, instead of changing the unit to a new oven Smeg wants to replace handles. When you start removing parts its opportunity for issues later on. The Smeg company values are to protect themselves and not care about the consumer needs. The product price does not meet the service levels. They want to play in the big boys quality and service level but yet both these areas are below standards. Stay with AEG, Bosch or if you have the bucks, buy Miele or Siemens. Smeg has lost my business for life
