Amazing service. Been having a problem with my system in the car where I would go through 4l water a day. Went here and they Identified a problem and fixed it on the spot. Now I must just focus on getting the leaking fixed

The fact that my car left in a worse shape is evidence enough of their workmanship! After being greeted with such a horrible attitude because I wanted to replace a radiator on a Friday afternoon (after phoning them on Thursday and the website says open till 5?)Such a rush job that in the process they damaged one of the other pipes which of course led to the engine over heating. Took us 2.5 hours to get back to a reliable mechanic which then of course cost even more money to repair. Not even worth one the one star.

I replaced my BMW E90 radiator at Silverton Bellville (the one in Stikland). I got exceptional service all round and their price was very reasonable. Will highly recommend them.

Stopped in to ask for a advise on a service on my oil cooler radiator. The owner was not rude but also not very helpful as they couldn't assist me. Left feeling stupid for coming in .Not a comfortable conversation.

What a bad experience. It really started out awesome- had a lekka chat with the son that was extremely helpful. Even tho , I could have bought the radiator at a different place which would have been cheaper I decided to give the business to them because of the friendly service I received from the young man. I walked into the office the first time paid for the item and it was going to be ordered to collect later that day. They called me saying the item is ready for collection - cool I go collect it . The box was open , it had some type of clear plastic seal on it - but it was open. They added the sticker and off I when. 2weeks later after I decided not to use the radiator I called then and they said I could bring it back. Again , I understand that it was an inconvenience so I wasn’t going to request the full refund back , I then requested a normal radiator for the mk1 , again , I could gotten it at another supplier for about R200 less. I again thought, I was sold by the helpfulness from the son. Brought the radiator back and the old man sitting behind the counter requested my invoice and I unfortunately didn’t have it . So I asked but they have a copy of it in there invoice book. Why not use that , he gave me such a story about Tax ect . He refused to except that but eventually did- well that’s what I thought. He then requested for the box where the radiator came inn but it was the exact same as they given it to me . It really seemed as if he was giving all story not to replace it. He eventually ordered me a golf 1 radiator and said to collect the moment it arrives. Then then when to collect the Golf1 radiator knowing I should get some cash back. I had to ask for the difference. He looked at me did some sums and gave me cash back. When I asked him if the change is correct he informed me that there is no way I will get the vat back unless he gets the invoice from me. Wow , I was so shocked , I smiled and walked out . I think I was ever in my life belittled like that. I found the invoice the other day but honestly not despite. I think what I’m trying to say is , don’t look at the colour of my skin and think I should be treated in certain way . I really doubt that I would go any Silverton anytime soon.

If you ever suspect that your vehicle is using water and would want to do a pressure test on the cooling system. These guys can help. They tested a vehicle for me, free of charge. I will recommend them to anybody. Friendly and helpful staff.

Quite an unfriendly bunch of people. I popped in for a simple gas leak test and it seemed to be the greatest amount of effort for them to do it for me without phoning before I arrived. When I pulled my car around, there were three guys performing a simple test. Not sure why I had to phone if the had three people available to do the test.If you can, I would definitely refer you to the Silverton Radiators in Strand. Very friendly service

I had my radiator replaced and the workmanship appears to be fine. However, I was told that a test had shown that there were gasses in the system and therefore a blown head gasket. I phoned the owner and to query how the test was done and he went through the procedure and ensured that his test was legitimate. When I was there he had already informed me that his son who is qualified can replace my head gasket etc for around R25 000. His diagnosis was completely wrong! I got a second opinion from Radiator King (also a Silverton franchise) who found out that it was a simple problem that the Viscous fan needed to be replaced! In addition to the incorrect diagnosis which could have cost me tens of thousands I found out that the test he did is the incorrect one for Diesel engines. In discussion the owner told me is isn’t even a qualified mechanic!Apart from an attitude, and not wanting to be questioned was his use of the k-word when I was leaving the workshop. He wanted to know what I did and I shared this and said I had lived in Botswana to which he replied that those k.....were so much than ‘ours’.Need I say more!
