Segway Vineyard Tours at Spier Wine Farm

This was a fun experience which I had the pleasure to do with colleagues and gift the experience to my godson and husband who thoroughly enjoyed it. I would recommend to all. We did the 1 hour tour but for those wanting a bit of speed, the 2 hour is recommended as the 1sr hour is about getting used to the Segway so its slow to mid speed pace which was perfect for me, but my husband felt that he would have liked to experience going a bit faster. The guide recommended the 2 hour where they allow a bit of freedom after hour 1.

While arriving there we just learned they only operate on weekends. Came for nothing although we were communicating just 2 days ago.But when its open its fun.

We loved every minute of it. Spier Segway Team were very professional. We had approx. 30 minutes trail run on how to use the Segway before we hit the vineyards. Highly recommended for the adventurous person or for Team building. If you are not good at balancing and a nervous driver, I won't recommend this. I would say not suitable for young kids under 10. People with old injuries, although they mention the risk eg back etc. it is fine, i think it's there as a disclaimer for the Segway company. so don't be deterred and give it a bash. Loved it! This is the second time that we have brought overseas visitors to do this tour. The segway is a really fun way to get around and reasonably easy to learn. The guides are knowledgeable and have a great sense of humour. You have to try it!

WOW!!!!! This was the most amazing experience!!! We had the most fun ever on those segways and Erik was the friendliest and most informative guide. His explanations of what is happening on the farm and how they are doing groundbreaking research was truly amazing! Spier vineyards is a worldclass destination and we cant wait to go visit again! Those segways are the best fun you can have and then end it all with a delicious wine tasting. See you guys again soon for the sundowner tour! ❤️

What a fun day! We loved every minute. :-) The scenic Segway Vineyard Tour at Spier Wine Farm was awesome, the guides professional and safety-conscious. A special thanks to Guide Maurice, whose kindness and compassion made our day. After overhearing my Mom say that she felt too nervous to try the Segway, he took her under his wing and had her zipping across the farm in no time. We will never forget this!

Absolutely brilliant experience! Cannot recommend this tour highly enough. It is super fun and interesting and you get to see the exquisite Spier estate and farm in a way you would never otherwise be able to. And the guides (Zithu in our case) make it the most amazing experience. From the segway tutorial (don't worry, it's incredibly easy to learn to ride) to the tours of the vineyards, the visit to the pigs and the chickens, every last bit of it was amazing. Honestly the best 2 hours you can spend in Stellenbosch. On that note, don't just do the 1 hour tour. I was going to initially, as I was worried my kids (11 & 13) would get bored, but am so glad I decided on the 2 hour instead - the time flies by and all 3 of us loved every minute of it!

What a fun day our with a great crew. The Segways were intimidating at first sight were actually very easy to use. Controllable enough to be safe and fast enough to have some fun playing with. Everyone in a broad group was able to safely use them. All the staff were a pleasure to be around; relaxed, funny, patient and knowledgeable both about the Segways but also about the farm and the back story. And what an awesome venue to go touring through. Best day out in a long while and we will be doing this again.
