This is has been a 2 year long journey for me. (Some back story and sorry for the long review) After losing a veneer 2 years ago (in early January) I was not able to find a dentist for 2 weeks to help glue the veneer back on as practices were still closed for the holidays. I eventually found a Cosmetic dentist in Moreleta park. She assisted with glueing the veneer back- I was not 100% happy with the work, as it was placed at a longer length than previous placement- After I voiced my concerns about my teeth, as I also wanted my gum line to be more even, the doc highlighted some issues I was not aware of with the Veneers which I had done 10 years prior and had served me well- I decided to replace 10 top teeth with Cerac crowns! it was crazy as I only had 6 veneers and I didn’t realize the extent of the process. Long story short- and a HUGE expense later, the 10 crowns were done and I found myself in a position where I now had no bite function. I went back and forth to try correct this and the suggestion was to redo them ALL again! I had spent a fortune, could not bite anything, the teeth were so tightly placed it was incredibly painful to floss between them. I hated my smile, they looked SO CHUNKY, and I felt my vanity had got the best of me and now I was in a position where i was miserable and too happy to hide behind the masks we were all wearing. Honestly, I was not prepared for the emotions I would have to process with this change. I also had zero confidence in repeating the procedure with this lady dentist.So I started looking for the VERY best tooth designer in SA and I came across Braam Wahl at Wahl Dental Ceramics on Instagram. Admittedly I stalked the IG account for months and months- I had to make sure he was the right person to give me natural looking teeth!! I dm’d Braam for a referral in Gauteng and that is when the magic started to happen. From the minute I stepped into Dr Michelle Karls practice, I felt like I was in the best hands!! I spoke about my lack of bite, the fake look of the teeth, my emotions, my apprehension for the pain of removing the cerac crowns and Dr Karl took it all in and reassured me with every step. From Anelle in reception to Her wingman Violet, I can’t sing their praises enough. I am SO HAPPY to say, I have teeth that look like teeth (thank you Braam) not the fake piano keys I had previously but even more importantly, i can BITE into food, I can flash my smile for the camera, now that masks are ‘so last year’ and I really feel like it has changed my life. Thank you from the bottom of my heart Dr Karl and team❤️, who worked so closely with the BEST LAB in the country- WAHL DENTAL CERAMICS, you have changed so much more than just the appearance. Professional through and through! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
