Really lovely polished and plush stay. Warm and inviting throughout the hotel during a chilly snap in the midlands. Friendly staff and the most delicious food by chef Keegan. Truly an amazing experience. Not cheap but worth every cent for the quality and experience you receive. Well done team!

Scenary stunning, rooms and housekeeping excellent, food abysmal not worth the effort or money. Lack of quality control or understanding of basics such as the difference between a coulis and a paste. We left the degustation experience as spices weren't cooked, vegetables atchar was promoted as kimchi, desert was so hard I thought my teeth would break and tasted fatty, and explained the issues to the chef. They offered us something else. We asked for toasted cheese sandwich only to find we got charged for it. The staff are super friendly, nothing is too much trouble and genuinely hospitable. It's a shame that the kitchen let's them down. With such basics wrong, it feels like first year students cooking with no supervision or quality control masked in fanfare however all the sparkle and razzle dazzle doesn't detract from bland food, coulis that bongs on a cheese platter or uncooked inedible food.

Excellent service and food. However, Google maps must be updated and proper entry EXIT signs would certainly make this a 5 star experience.

I walked into tranquility, this is HEAVEN ON EARTH , was my first thought! The feeling ofPeacefulness had spoken to my soul, one can lost in this old world charm! Apart from the tasteful luxurious decor with an equestrian theme, stained glass from another era, fresh St Joseph's Lillies in abundance, the smiles which welcomed us, that made us feel like the most important guests ever!!In today's life, honest to say, I was caught off guard, to be welcomed, offered tea and scones! Is this real?I walked into an era of good manners, friendlyness, beautiful surroundings!Neat and tidy, everything was sparkling clean!The gardens, the roses!I was in Out of Africa"

Drove a long way to find that it wasn't made clear to my wife that we could not have a meal in the main restaurant on our anniversary but had to eat in the outside A la Carte restaurant . Would not have driven all that way for that. So I was not terribly happy. Past experiences have been good and was what I was expecting . Unfortunately I cannot tell you how the phone call went exactly as I didn't make it but I suspect that it could have been made much cleared where we were going to be if we came.

Where should I begin? The location, the general setting, the rooms and the dinner - we highly recommend staying and dining at this magical place.To even lift this experience to the next level the staff could have shown more personal interest rather than just being polite.The man who stood out though was our sommelier!

Love this place! Classy rooms, beautiful surroundings, friendly staff & delicious food. Highly recommend. Just outside Mooi River, only 1.5 hours from Durban & 3.5 hours from Johannesburg
