Warthog Lodge – Mabalingwe Game Reserve – Bela-Bela

The Place is absolutely beautiful. The main lodge is superb and has every possible kitchen appliance one can imagine. The game reserve is fantastic and using the game drive vehicle provides an ideal opportunity to explore in amazing comfort

We spent a girls weekend at Warthog Lodge 6 to 9 May 2021. 3 nights of bliss. The view is incredible. Having our own game vehicle led to many amazing sightings at our own pace. With regular visits by Warthog to the house, we could see where the lodge got its name. Being in the travel industry myself and use to going on site inspection of various accommodation, the house was fully kitted out with everything you could need or even wish for. Lea our superhost really delivered. She was always on call day or night and willing to help. I would DEFINITELY recommend Warthog Lodge.

Absolutely amazing and stunning! Perfect name.... There are warthogs around the house every day. Sitting in the bath watching the kudu's drinking water, shower under the stars, watch the sunset from the deck, sit by the fireplace or boma and enjoy a glass of wine....... Book that extra night or 2! It's beautiful and clean!Thank you Lea and staff.

It was an amazing experience staying at Warthog Lodge. Everything from the beginning to the end was just perfect. Not only was the lodge beautiful from the inside, but it also has an incredible view from the deck. A special thank you to the owner who provided us with so much valuable information before our arrival and her willingness to answer our questions during our stay. We will definitely return here.

What an exquisite place to stay. Everything in it's place. Ideal to spend quality time with friends and family. Game drive was super amazing. Saw all animals during one morning game drive.

Warthog lodge is excellently appointed, with great attention to detail and guest comfort.The view is fantastic and the house is located in a private and peaceful area within Mabalingwe.The host, Lea is attentive, well organized and always willing to assist whenever needed.We will definitely be regular visitors to Warthog Lodge in future!

Warthog Lodge is a stunning accomodation option in Mabalingwe. The area is well spaced out, giving privacy to bigger groups while still having enough common areas to socialise in.The views from the lodge are breathtaking, and the boma area is great for hanging out around the fire. The kitchen is kitted out with superb kitchenware, making cooking a delight. We also had many animal visitors coming right up to the living areas which was a nice surprise.We had a few issues with the solar when the power went out due to load shedding, and some hot water issues in the chalets, but Lea was extremely communicative in helping us figure things out.The game drive vehicle was also a fun experience and I would definitely recommend hiring it for a day. The only thing we had trouble with was navigating the map, and the people around Mabalingwe weren’t very helpful. But we eventually figured it out.Overall it was a wonderful getaway at quite an affordable price.

Such a beautiful getaway Lodge, located just a drivable distance from Bela Bela town. This place is so beautiful pictures don't even do it justice. As the name dictates, you will see a dozen warthogs day in day out. The place is perfect for a small family or for couples, as there is a main bedroom in the main house then two chalets outside with all the privacy you'll need. There's wifi, ice makers, bar fridges in the chalet, there's an outdoor shower which you will definitely enjoy. Our stay there was amazing and will definitely be going back there.We spotted a few animals, but the climax of our stay has to be having been woken up by elephants grazing just metres away from our chalet.Oh yeah, there's also a game drive vehicle which you can utilize at an additional cost.Don't think about it twice, JUST GO THERE!!

An absolutely fantastic African bush experience. I recommend this for anyone wanting to experience an African Game Reserve in luxury comfort. A stunning location with awesome views, this private and secluded Lodge truly is 5 star. Quite possibly my best holiday experience ever!

This house has absolutely everything you may need, the setting is sublime and the hostess is incredibly thorough. We had the perfect weekend here, all of our needs were pre-empted and taken care of in advance. Highly recommended for a stress-free and authentic Bushveld break away!
