The Vineyard Country House

Doube Room: 24 and 25 Feb 2023The Vineyard Country House provides an atmosphere for RELAXING. With honestly friendly and efficient staff, we felt spoiled in very clean and comfortable rooms with a freshly prepared breakfast daily, to be enjoyed on the lovely farmhouse “stoep”, overlooking the picturesque surrounding mountains. Not to mention the vineyards growing right next to you. It felt like we’re staying on a vineyard farm, but with all the joys of staying in town. The Vineyard Country House is perfectly situated in the centre of the town.Fantastic service and great experience. Will definitely visit again.

Paradise. We chose the King Room with Mountain View room and we’re delighted with our choice. It’s the only room in the building where breakfast is served and was stunning. Extremely big, beautifully decorated with claw footed bath and huge private terrace with outside shower. The garden facing the mountains feels magical. The owner was delightful and couldn’t do enough to ensure our stay was perfect.

Wow what a find! Lauren and Louise are the perfect hosts, friendly and willing to help with restaurant reservations or anything else you might want to know. We were in room 4 which has a beautiful big patio area as do the other rooms where you can laze away the hot afternoons looking out over the vineyards and the pool. The pool area has a lovely shaded area and comfy sun beds. The views from there are divine. The bed was huge and so comfy. The main house is full of beautiful bits and pieces and I could imagine curling up on one of the sofas with a roaring fire and a good book in winter. The breakfasts were amazing, ably prepared by the hosts and Sandra. Something different home baked/made every morning - it really set you up for the day. Fabulous restaurants in walking distance. We found it very hard to leave as we felt so chilled here. Thank you Lauren and Louise for a fab stay - we can’t wait to come back one day soon

Main building is quite old and wonderfully decorated. Our room (4) was quite basic but comfortable and clean. Nice patio where one can sit and overlook the beautiful garden. Very cosy!Some excellent restaurants (including a brewery) for evening dinner within 5 min walking distance.Ladies running the Vineyard Country House are very friendly and helpful. And the breakfast is outstanding.Definitely we will book again when staying in Montagu the next time.

A lovely little spot, close to all the good food places in Montagu. The breakfasts are amazing and so are the hosts Lauren and Louise. They were very helpful and book restaurants and suggest outings for the day. The room was cozy, had all the basics and cleaned daily. The outdoor lounge space was lovely to relax in, while it does feel private it still opens to a walkway so you may be lounging while other guests check-in and out.Dropped a star because their was an issue with the toilet. It would screech at random hours. We should have asked for another room but it was not offered either, not sure if they were fully booked. It's been a problem for bit so I'm hoping the ladies find a solution soon.

Five stars all around. Definitely make this your stay when visiting Montagu. It's peaceful, picturesque, and don't skip out on the breakfast the next morning, It's divine.

Wow what a beautiful bed and breakfast in the most beautiful little town in the mountains!Make sure you eat the breakfast in the morning cause truly wow best breakfast I’ve had in years.The room was super comfy the pool was perfect especially for those hot summer days and nights !!It just so peaceful perfectly located, and felt safe all the time. Mustn’t forget to mention the views from the room with the mountains and vineyards just spectacular.Will definitely be returning!

Great rooms clean well prepared with everything you need. The hosts were fantastic and extremely helpful. I can definitely recommend this for an option. While we were there they were installing back up power too.
