Dr. Anton Roux

I had braces for 4 and a half years (I was told it would only take 2 years upon initial exam) with Dr Roux and my teeth were still not straight. I told him to take it off as I was leaving the country and had no other choice, he celebrated my teeth telling me how good they looked but we BOTH knew they were not straight and my bite was still off. On top of that, it cost my parents 4x the original price that he quoted them for my braces. Everyone that I know of that had braces done by this unqualified Dr. had their braces for 4+ years and the biggest problem with their teeth were STILL not fixed. Never ever ever go to Anton Roux for braces or any dentistry work for that matter.

WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO MY ENEMIES!!!WOULD BE 0 STARSI am about one mm away from reporting this dentist with the HPCSA as he has no idea what he is doing or he has lost all his passion for what he does. He had fixed my wife's crown twice in 3 weeks and it broke again. He makes wild suggestions telling you need antibiotics while you do not even have any infection.AVOID GOING TO THIS DENTIST IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE!!!

Worst dentist imaginable. Rather endure pain until you can find another dentist than trust this fraudulent charlatan. He will irrevocably mess up your teeth and charge you double what anyone else will. The receptionist is the rudest person you'll encounter this year, guaranteed. Heed this warning and stay away, it's for your own welfare.

The horror stories about Dr Roux do accumulate... I landed up in hospital with infection in my jaw and had to get emergency surgery. All a result of Dr Roux not dealing appropriately with an abscess in a tooth. The surgeon who operated was furious as he said I was less than 48 hours from death due to blood poisoning - no exaggeration.When I changed dentists, we found the reason for continuous abscessed to be mostly because of botched crowns and infection then spreading to adjacent teeth as well. In one tooth there was still cotton wool stuck in the channels under the crown. Quite a few of the crowns were also unnecessary.Thanks to Dr Roux, I am wearing dentures and I cannot get implants due to losing too much bone during the surgery. I haven't seen him for nine years, but as I am on my way to the dentist to refit my bottom dentures, I thought I would warn anyone still considering Dr Roux.Getting him scrapped from the roll, as someone suggested, would be hard as dentists treating Dr Roux's former patients would have to spend time in hearings, giving evidence, not serving their clients and giving up income.

I don't know how this fraudster is still open! Medical Aids should investigate this man thoroughly. I don't know how many fillings he put in my mouth that weren't needed, along with numerous other procedures and a botched root canal - all claimed for on the medical aid. Do not use this dentist.

He’s very friendly, but there’s a catch. He charges you unnecessarily and doesn’t deliver quality service.

Very friendly, but hugely over priced. R900 call out for Sunday. Then when claim came through medical aid another R2200 for being in the chair for 5 minutes for an injection and quick drain of a extracted wisdom tooth that had become inflamed.Billed for items that discovery says this kind of practice cannot bill for.Over R3000 seriously not impressed.

I wish I could give zero stars for this man.y root canal procedure was botched and now the whole thing needs to be removed,tooth and all. On top of that,he did fillings in other teeth after I explicitly said that he mustn't and then expects me to foot the bill. I wish that I could name and shame on Facebook without it being illegal,but I will NEVER reccomend him to anyone.

Just had an implant done by Dr Anton removed by another dentist because the whole implant was loose, skew and somehow on the wrong bone. Almost cost me the two teeth on either side of it aswell. Nice Man, Questionable dentistry. Be aware.
