THE BEST RESTAURANT IN KNYSNA.I wish we found it earlier, we went to all the good spots. This one stood out the most!.As you walk into the nest, there is a marvellous array of nature that gives a sense of comfort. The lovely waitress suggested her favourite meal, and now it’s my favourite meal in Knysna. My step niece had a whale of a time with the misty bubbles they made on her drink. The prices are affordable and truly so so worth it! Compliments to the chef and staff, we truly hope this space stands the rest of time as an iconic place to visit when on holiday in Knysna.

I thought the previous reviews were too good to be true.. but they are true. We ordered most of the items from the menu and Andy also got us some kid-friendly options. Food and service from all staff was amazing. Definitely coming back the next time I'm in Knysna.

Nest Food Bar is a hidden gem on Thesen Island, Knysna. The restaurant overlooks the beautiful Knysna Estuary, and you simply can’t beat cocktails whilst watching the sunset on their decking. We visited Knysna as part of a two-week trip to South Africa, and we stayed in The Lofts as part of our trip. Nest Food Bar is part of the same building, so it was very easy for us to step out of our room and into Nest Food Bar for food and cocktails. It is very rare for us to eat in hotel restaurants, as we usually like going out and exploring the local area, but the food, service and setting were so good, we ended up eating there every night of our three-night stay.The staff in the restaurant are nothing short of amazing. They were so friendly and welcoming; it was like we were part of their family. They weren’t only friendly, but very efficient and always happy to help.The menu features a variety of small plates and dishes, from seafood to steaks, as well as a range of sharing platters. We worked our way through a variety of dishes on the menu during our three visits, and there wasn’t a single one we didn’t like - they were all fabulous. We also had a couple of breakfasts whilst staying at The Lofts, and this was equally as good. The coffee is fantastic, and the Granola Tart was stunning.We also managed to work our way through a variety of their drinks on the cocktail menu, and they were all fantastic, however The Seabird was sensational - a real taste sensation!The Nest is the perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family, with a stunning view. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the setting is simply stunning. I highly recommend Nest Food Bar to anyone looking for a great dining experience in Knysna.

We stopped here for breakfast then came back the following day when we passed through Knysna again. Delicious food, we tried (and really enjoyed) the carrot cake, papaya nest and ancient grains porridge and avo-half. Good coffee, professional and friendly service. Highly recommend if you are planning breakfast/brunch in Knysna.

So so good!!! Great cocktails and food! Spectacular service and setting. Nice to have several vegetarian options that are so flavorful and fresh. And do not pass on dessert!!!

This place was a really good breakfast, tasty and fast! The waiters was super friendly and kind.Recommended place to stop by not to mention the decor of the place!Worth a visit.

The Nest is a Tapas eatery. We ordered the whole menu so I can honestly say that the food was delicious except for the ribs. Until they sort out the meat toughness, don’t order it.The ambiance reminded me of Cape Town with laid back deep house music and a lovely view of the lagoon as you’re literally on the water.Highly recommended but not cheap.Suitable to tourists that have the mighty Pound or Euro.Only criticism is the seating.
