Hog Hollow Country Lodge

We stayed here for 2 nights but should have done more! Situated in the Crags above Plettenberg Bay this property is different and charming, offering stunning views.We were lucky enough to receive an upgrade to the 3 bedroom villa and WOW what a place. With its own infinity swimming pool with amazing views over the foliage below. Monkeys roam the gardens and came in the morning to visit.The rooms have the ability to have a BBQ cooked for you on your own deck. This is a fantastic experience and great value, at the villa you have the benefit of a fire pit and the choice of eating in the dining/kitchen area or out on the terrace.Breakfasts here were huge with a wide choice of fruits and cakes followed by a selection of cooked breakfasts.So many things to do are within a 10-minute drive such as wine tasting, elephant experience, monkey land, and the bird sanctuary. For the thrill-seekers, there is bungy jumping, paragliding, river rafting you name it there is something for everyone. If you are looking for a good beach then consider Keurboom Beach. Perfect for catching some rays but equally a stunning beach to walk.The staff are equally attentive and welcoming offering help and suggestions on how to get the best from your stay. Easy to find and a perfect stop on the Garden Route.I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, just book one more night than you think!

What an amazing location, with sweeping views across a beautiful valley, with the mountains as the final backdrop cementing an incredible vista. The service is sublime with a genuine team that genuinely cares about all aspects of the service experience. The food was fantastic and the daily surprise of seeing your car washed for you each morning was a real thoughtful treat! The pool area is probably one of the nicest I've ever experienced.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. Setting is amazing. Accommodation is spacious and comfortable. The staff are the highlight though. They made our stay very enjoyable. This place caters for the children amazingly well without losing the charm and ambience of a boutique lodge. There were some lovely little touches such as milk and cookies left for the kids in the room every evening. Cars were washed every morning. These things really made our trip that extra bit special. We all can't wait to return. I can't recommend this place enough.

Another wonderful stay at Hog Hollow. Delicious food, the villa was fab, incredibly warm staff and all in a beautiful setting. Close to two fab vineyards and not far to drive to Kerbooms, Plett or Natures Valley. Special thanks to Michelle, Dee and Big Joe!

This accommodation was truly a pleasant surprise. I arrived tired after a long drive and I was welcomed very warmly by 3 very nice ladies who introduced themselves and showed us the way to our rooms.The rooms were absolutely gorgeous, furnished with anything you could ever need during your stay. A detail I loved was the bad of hot water under my bed sheet. Lovely!The breakfast is absolutely stellar, best meal I’ve ever eaten at a hotel and the rooms have a spacious balcony with a terrific view.Would definitely come back 10/10

Had the pleasure of staying there with my family earlier this month. It’s simply one of the best places we’ve ever stayed in. As others have said the situation, food and staff are all world class. The location is amazing with stunning views over the Tsitsikamma mountains and forest. I would not hesitate to recommend Hog Hollow to anyone and would love to return one day.

We stayed at this property during a recent trip to South Africa. We were not that impressed with the service or property. The resort is located in the middle of nowhere with no easy access to services. Unlike many of the other properties we visited during our trip, this place charges for every little extra item. We also had a very difficult time checking out because they were having system problems and seemed to not have a good back-up plan. I think I would skip staying here if I was back in the area.

What an amazing place! As part of the Flash Pack tour group we stayed here for 3 nights. The staff are friendly and fun, the hotel is out of this world and we even got to enjoy a traditional Braai in one of our lodges which really made the trip. Such good memories and will most certainly be back.

We stayed for 4 nights. The front of house staff were extremely friendly, the food was very good and accomodation superb. They will even wash your car. Stunning views from the balcony across the forest to the mountains beyond. A small wood burning fire, in our room, came in useful when the temperature dropped.I would have scored it a 5 but following an attempted break in by a baboon, the cleaners failed to clean the decking properly despite several requests. Be prepared for monkeys playing on your roof.You can walk from the lodge to the Birds of Eden. 45-50 minutes one-way, but be prepared for a climb. The lodge are happy to come pick you up if you don't fancy a return trip.

The staff including owners are heart warming. Such great service up until the garden boy, waiters, laundry ladies each & everyone of them are amazing. The rooms are lovely, home away from home in the jungle with the stunning views of the mountain & jungle nature to nurture""
