The hake is the best you can get im a restaurant - very fresh and a brilliant batter. The only let down is that they don't serve wine, but you can bring your own. Mr Kaai is a must on a garden route tour.

Let me tell you a story. For e person that never really eats seafood. I was convinced by my fellow friends to try some dishes way out of my comfort zone. Let’s start at the starter. I ordered the calamari for myself and had the choice to taste from friends the garlic sea snails and mussels in a white wine creamy sauce. The calamari was excellent soft and the batter was delicious. Now for the dishes I would never try. Snails. Wow I absolutely loved them. They flavour was superb. I tried the mussels from my wife and was to ashamed to admit that the taste was unbelievable. I am now a convert! I do pity any establishment after Mr Kaai to better in the taste and flavour of there dishes. For mains I had the battered hake and chips. Loved it. Finished it all !! 3 deserts were available. Plain and simple choices but oh so delicious. Jelly and custard. Ice cream and chocolate sauce. Then the “Pièce de Résistance” the Malva pudding and custard was the absolute highlight! Homemade and delicious. I can highly recommend this gem of a restaurant in Segfield.

Biggest portion of hake I have ever eaten in a restaurant! Very delicious. We did not like that a surcharge of 10% was added and that does not include the tip for the waiter. So bargain at least on 20% additional.

Just off the main road in Sedgefield in a nice cosy garden setting. Our 1st attempt was unsuccessful as it was full but we returned an hour later and got a tableTried the fish and chips as recommended by locals and some of our party had calamari option toI had the medium fish as they had no large but it was quite big. A very healthy portion considering the price of R80 . Included chipsIt's small but a nice vibe and worth trying out

One of the best kept local secrets! Fresh seafood, made with love. Huge portions. A platter for 2 would have been more than enough for our family of 4. Not sure how I only discovered this place now after 16years of existence. Must be in your top list of Sedgefield dining spots.

Thank you for the excellent food and amazing service. In Garden Route for our honeymoon and visiting Mr Kaai was on our bucket list, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Platter for 2 is a MUST and so affordable. Loved it!

Mr Kaai's fish restaurant" and takeaway is in Ale Street Sedgefield. One of those well kept secrets on the Garden Route... So easy to just drive through Sedgefield and never know what you are missing! Next time : Stop

First time visit here, lovely little place with friendly service.Honestly I am not a big seafood eater but the fish and chips here was one of the best I have ever had. Great portion sizes and super fresh and tasty. The chips are great and the calamari strips/fries are also really good.Will definitely visit again

PROS:- Fish quality is great.- Chips quality is great.- Venue is okay. Kinda small.CONS:- They do not take bookings.- Portion size is concerning.ADVICE:- Take note that they are packed during holiday season and struggle to meet orders.- That said the food was good I will come back when it quiets down.
