Absolutely gorgeous landscape and scenery…a lush and beautiful campground to explore, get in touch with nature. Meditate and recuperate, it’s so peaceful, all you hear are the sounds of tranquil waterfall and animals. The accommodation is decent for a camping site, clean and fresh. It’s a self catering accommodation, they also allow day visit. You can come hike, have a Braai or picnic and enjoy the scenery. There are two trails the 10km hike which is between moderate and difficult. The 4km hike is easy to moderate. There is a small shop on a he site opened on Saturday between 2-4pm you can buy your hats, cups and tracking sticks. There are animals on the site, monkeys, donkeys and cattle. The entrance route to the camp site provides beautiful views and glimpse of the trails. It’s work the visit, it’s located in entokozweni Mpumalanga and it’s very affordable.

A tough 10km hike, but totally worth it. Perfect for those training for Die Otter or Visrivier. Amazing waterfalls, huge variety of trees and plants, we were lucky enough to even spot a pair of Knysna Loeries. The route is well marked and laod out with some added poles and beams for support to make the walk safe and comfortable.A fun touch is the added little name plates that can be found around every corner eg 'Miep's view' 'Fritz' ladder' and 'Bets' rock garden'. The trail doesn't have a boring moment, and every 400 meters have something new to offer. Once you've passed the 8km line, it's an easy decline back to base.R90 p/p for the day, but there are accommodation available ranging from R250-R390. There's a 5km trail and a 2-day teail available.

I did really enjoy the hike. I did 14 kilometers and all trails are beautiful. It’s the 10 kilometers trail that had surprises for me. I didn’t expect the hike to go to the top of the mountain but I found myself at the top and when I thought we are going back to the bottom and back to the car park little did I know that we are heading to the Cascade Waterfall.

This is honestly one of the best trails I have ever hiked in SA. They have absolutely everything you could ever want on a hike. They have waterfalls, forests, river crossings and mountains. As well as a few technical aspects along the route. The views, topography and vegetation as all absolutely spectacular. Cannot recommend this trail enough

Definitely a must do if you enjoy one day hikes. It’s about 10km long, with a waterfall, ladders and steep climbing here and there. The trail was quite empty when we went, we didn't meet any hikers that day. Not sure if it maybe gets busier at certain times.

I did the trail on Freedom Day! It was epic! It killed me but the waterfalls resurrected me! Stunning views! Will come back and sleep over!

Absolutely beautiful hiking trail. Did the 10km in 5hours with plenty of stops to admire the scenery and have a snack at the waterfall.Winding in and out of the forest and river scenry into a dry woody space into a beautiful open field. Mountain rocks to pass by and a view of the valley that will take your breath away.

Wathaba is a hikers paradise. The trails are clearly marked and well maintained with interesting notices along the way. The different routes take you to waterfalls, alongside the river, to a picture perfect fairy land and up to the escarpment with spectacular views. All the trails require walking fitness for the uphills and even the decent can be a challenge. The bathrooms and bedrooms meet all the needs of hiking overnight accommodation. The kitchen is spacious with a gas stove, undercover braai, washbasin with warm water and plenty working space. There is no electricity, but you hardly notice it's absence. If you visit Wathaba you'll wish you could stay.
